Smee gladly led me on deck, a jolly smile on his face. I wish I had him as a grandpa or uncle or something. He has been so kind to me throughout my capture by Hook.

He stayed faithful; hopeful. He was like a warrior in a squat body. I smiled as I saw my guest. He was my age, but he looked younger.

He gave a crooked smile, "Got a name, darlin'?"

"M-Madeline."

"Peter."

Smee gave him a stern look when he held his hand out to shake mine.

Peter lowered his hand, "So you're the famous Princess Madeline. Word travels fast, darlin'."

His blonde-red hair reached his eyes, and his dark green eyes struck out. They were beautiful. He had brown and green attire that had the same style as Hook's outfit.

Speaking of the devil, Hook strode up to Peter with a glint in his eyes. He scowled at him, warning him not to try anything. "Peter." He spat.

"Hook." Peter smiled sarcastically.

"W-what did you want to meet me for?" I stuttered.

"Just wanted to welcome you to Neverland." His voice was like smooth velvet.

"Thank you, but did you have to welcome me at the middle of the night?"

"No time here, darlin'." He reminded me.

"Yes, but there is darkness and light. I can tell the difference between when I'm supposed to be asleep and not."

Hook smiled at my response.

"Sorry, I just couldn't stop thinking about you. I had to meet you." He stepped closer.

"You could've waited until morning," I scoffed. He was being a little annoying.

He walked even closer to me, his lips grazing my cheek. Hook's hand clenched into a fist.

He whispered heavily into my ear, "Come with me to the Lost Boys."

I pushed him away. "Who're they?"

"Want me to show you?"

"I don't think I do."

"Suit yourself, darlin'. I guess you wouldn't want to get away from your lover, here." He nodded toward Hook.

"Who? Hook? He's not... I mean..." I honestly didn't know what he was to me, but I knew he wasn't my lover.

"Correct." Hook protectively wrapped his arm around me. Shivers traveled up my spine. I almost forgot that he said we were lovers. Me and Captain Hook... Lovers...

I shivered. Hook noticed and pulled me in closer to him.

"Maddy, you don't really... Love this jerk, do you?"

Hook's jaw locked. "Back off, Crocodile." The last word fluttered off his tongue, and for some strange reason I wanted to hold his hand. I must've been really tired.

But I felt my hand in his, anyway.

Peter looked at our intertwined fingers. Then Hook did the same and smiled victoriously. Peter swallowed and shifted his weight, "That's it. I will get you one day, Princess Madeline. If you won't come with me peacefully, I'll get you to come with force." Peter looked at Hook up and down with disgust. "Hook... You'll be sorry soon enough."

Hook's hand tightened on mine. We both looked at each other. "I..." Hook started to say.

I looked back over to where Peter was seconds ago. He was gone. Just like that.

Hook continued, "I won't let him get you, Madeline. Not while I'm in Neverland."

I couldn't help but smile. "Thank you, Hook." I hugged him on impulse. He rested his chin on the top of my head. I didn't know what I felt towards him. I should hate him, but I don't. Not right now, anyway. He was being - Dare I say? - Sweet. Compassionate. Caring.
