Chapter Five (Part I): Proverbs

Taeyang's POV

After getting home with Ri, I took a shower. I didn't want to be sweaty for the interview. It was probably going to be just like the usual. "Do you know when you're releasing a new album?", "Do you like working as a group?", "How does age play a role?", "Who shares a room?"...the usual.

I sigh, sitting in the pink room on my sheets - one of the few things that aren't pink. They're navy blue, a nice color if I do say so myself. I pull my Bible onto my lap, flipping to a random page. Proverbs. I start reading.

Proverbs 10:18...

"Whoever conceals hatred has lying lips.

Whoever spreads slander is a fool."*

I lean back, stunned. The Lord truly speaks; I will watch my tongue especially close today. I would hate to disgrace anyone - my group, my family, or The Lord.

The door to my room opens and I look up. TOP has just walked in, looking rather deep in thought. I smile at him easily and say hello to him. He says nothing in return.

"TOP?" I say hesitantly. "Are you okay?"

'Please do not let him be in a mood, Lord.' I pray quickly but sincerely. I do not know how to get him out of a mood, nor do I want to figure it out right before an interview. It would be beneficial to neither of us.

"Hm?" TOP looks up at me, after taking a seat on his own bed.

"I just asked if you were alright." I say quickly. I do not wish to be sharp and I hope that I haven't portrayed my words in that fashion. Lord, help my quick tongue.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for asking YB. I'm just thinking right now. Are you ready for the interview?" He used my nickname. I sigh a breath of relief; he is not in a bad mood after all.

He can see I'm physically ready for the interview and I know what he's truly asking. He knows I have a routine that I follow before an interview, concert, photo shoot, anything. I smile at his caring.

"Yeah, I'm ready. Looked over some English cards, and just got a dose of the Scripture. You should try it sometime - it's wonderful stress relief." I know I'm overstepping my boundaries, but it is for The Lord after all...

He chuckles at my attempt. "Perhaps another time. I still have to get ready myself." With that he goes over to the closet and pulls some things out. He leaves.

"You are never too busy to make time for The Lord." I whisper softly to the closed door.
