The next few months were torture; I was battling with myself should I or shouldn’t I? For one I’d be breaking Dumbledore’s trust and my dads who would literally give his life to keep me safe but this tournament would be monitored by professional wizards and witches so what danger would there actually be?

I was actually beginning to start questioning my sanity; since when had I been turned on when it came to danger? Sure, I’d had my fair share of life threatening moments but that was mainly due to Harry’s attraction to shoving his nose into other people’s business and ok, sure, I am now kinda dating one half of the schools main jokers who seems to thrive in the midst of trouble especially when he’s cause of the trouble…maybe Ron was right, maybe I had been spending too much time with Fred; either way, all I know is that the prospect of being in the tournament seemed to attract me more than owning the world’s fastest broom (which, by the why, I already have.)

So when the time came for the two other competing schools to arrive I was at a complete loss as to what to do; so much so that I was actually still sitting in Potions, lost in my thoughts, whilst everyone else was outside greeting our guests.

“Lilliana?” His voice was harsh but it snapped me out of my trance.

My head whipped around so fast that I actually felt my neck crack. “Yes?” I looked up at my father who was frowning at me.

“Shouldn’t you be outside with your friends?”

“Why?” I frowned.

Dad sighed before bending down “is there something troubling you, Lilliana? I know that I haven’t been as close as I have been; I’ve been monitoring you from a distance but I’ve noticed that your focus has not been of…reality lately.”

“What?”

“You’re spending too much time in your head.”

I shook my head and stood up, grabbing my stuff and shoving it into my pockets “I’m fine, thanks for asking; I’ll see you later.” I gave him a swift hug before leaving.

When I got up to the entrance hall, however, everyone was already filing back in and heading toward the great hall talking excitedly to each other. I joined the throng of students and pushed my way to the Gryffindor table where Ron, Harry, Hermione, Fred and George were already sitting.

I sat down between Fred and Ron and allowed Fred to kiss me before noticing the look on Ron’s face. “It’s just a kiss Ron” Hermione sighed.

“It’s a bit impolite to do it at the table” he mumbled.

“Since when?” Ginny cut in as she sat beside Hermione, opposite.

Ron muttered something incoherently before Harry spoke. “Where were you? We thought you’d followed us out of potions but when I looked around, you weren’t there.”

I shrugged “didn’t want to be crowded, I guess.”
