XXXIX-Hello There Lucy (Part 1 of 3)

What would you do if both of your friends are madly in love with each other to the point that they both asked for your help in coming up with something extra ordinary  to surprise each other?

Sa kaso ko, pakiramdam ko eh maloloka na ako. Imagine,David asked me to make a portrait of Maggie using the collage of their stolen shots as a couple at ibibigay daw to kay Maggie sa birthday niya. At times daig ko pa ang paparazzi at stalker ni David na para bang ang peg ko eh I'm getting a scoop para lang makuhanan ang kilig moments ng mag-asawa.

Well, medyo mas madali ang kay David kasi photography is my passion pero itong kay best, ang hirap sa bangs.  Maggie asked me to help her out keep her pregnancy from David.

Yes. Finally, it's a positive. Nakabuo na ulit sa wakas ang pagmamahalan nilang dalawa pero praning na yata si Maggie at ayaw sabihin kay David. Kami lang dalawa ang may alam na buntis siya kasi gusto niya pagsinabi niya kay David eh sure na sure na.

Ngayon nga eh ako ang nautusan ni Maggie na bumili ng  prunes, chili paste, apples at isang buong papel ng listahan na binigay niya.  Hindi ko alam kung anong trip ni best pero ako ang nawiwindang sa kanya. Kung anu-ano pa kasi ang tinetext niya sa akin. Ang komplikado niyang magbuntis. Super!

I dialled Maggie's number just to make sure that I didn't miss out anything.

"Okay na ba lahat? Is that  all?"

"Yeah. Thanks talaga best ha. Bilisan mong pumunta dito ah. Gutom na ko eh."

"Lokaret ka kasi best Eh. Why don't you tell David na. One month ka na ring pregnant. For sure hindi yan negative. We went to 3 different doctors and they all said you are positive."

"Eh surprise nga yun sa birthday ko best. Para double celebration Di ba? Tipid pa.."

Tumawa si Maggie ng nakakaloka. I'm pretty sure, wala si David kaya todo bigay yun sa pagtawa kasi we can freely talk about her pregnancy.

"Paano kung mapano ka. Paano Kung maaksidente ka or mabinat or mapagod? Paano Kung."

Huminto bigla ang mundo ko nang magbagsakan yung mga noodles mula sa standee at may bisig na naglayo sa akin mula sa pagkakatayo ko. I was so shocked kaya nabitawan ko ang phone ko at nagtalsikan ang mga parts nito. Omg! Pinag-ipunan ko pa naman to. Pero mas OMG kasi natulala ako sa lalaking humila sa akin palayo sa mga noodles.

"Are you okay dear?"

Dear?

Usa?

What?

Ano?

Teka, ang ganda ng smile niya.. Pwedeng pwede ko siyang gawing model. His eyes speak of mystery. That's the kind of model I've been looking for and I never thought that I'd be able to find one at the mall. Thank God that Maggie asked me to be here. Okay din pala ang pagiging loka ni Maggie.

"Hey, okay ka lang?"

OMG!

Anong smile ba meron ang taong to? I can't find words to describe his smile. What is happening to me? Wake up Lucy. Wake up. Magsalita ka Lucy! Common.

"Thank you for the help. I better go."

At long last I was able to say something. I didn't get the chance to ask him to be my model dahil nakakahiya. I zoned out!

"Not so fast miss. I mean can we grab a cup of coffee or something?"

"Huh?"

"You know. Payment for being a Good Samaritan."

"Ahmmmm".

Wala talaga akong masabi. What's wrong? Lord help me. Please. I am zoning out again.

"Mama, look at what I've found."---- Tumakbo si Blueberry papalapit sa akin na may hawak na firetruck na umiilaw. Kasama ko siya ngayon dahil it's our Saturdate. Tuwing Sabado kasi I promised her to treat her anything that she likes and one of the things she likes is firetrucks. Blame it to David. And yeah, she calls me mama and she calls Maggie mommy.

"Who is he po mama?"

Hinila ni Blueberry ang damit ko at nagtago sa likod ko na parang nahihiya. This is unusual kasi napakabibo ng batang ito. Nahihiya din kaya ang inaanak ko sa kagwapuhan ng lalaking ito.

"Hello princess. Where's your papa?"

"Why are you my mama's boyfriend?"

Nakita kong napangiti ang lalaking tumulong sa akin at napatingin na parang nagtatanong. May pagkakataon talagang napagkakamalan kaming mag mommy ng inaanak ko at dahil wala na akong masabi pa I decided to just say goodbye.

"We better leave. Thank you for helping me."

With that, I grabbed Blueberry and headed to the cashier. Baka gutom na si Maggie at ang baby niya.
