Chapter 3- Blue Eyes

I don't know how long I was out.

When I could finally think, my first thought was Alex.

My Alex. Dead. Gone.

Am I dead?

For a long time I just lay there, thinking.

I couldn't feel anything. My body was entirely numb.

My eyes wouldn't open.

For some reason, no matter how much I try, I can't get out of my frozen state.

Time passes and I feel a tingling in my arms and legs, spreading through my body.

I can finally feel again. My fingers dig into the cold earth and I notice I'm laying on the ground outside somewhere.

My heavy eyelids open slowly as I take in my surroundings.

I can see dawn light creeping thought the tree tops.

I am in the forest.

My head whips to the side to see Alex laying next to me.

I quickly sit up and check his pulse.

A faint, irregular heartbeat.

I sigh in relief.

My Alex is alive!

I crawl over to Lucy and Eleanor, checking their pulses as well.

Theirs is the same as Alex's.

I don't even hear him until he cries out my name.

"Camille!!"

I turn to see Alex, who is now sitting up on the ground.

I gasp as I see his eyes.

The once green-brown color had been replaced by an icey blue one.

"Cami?" He says.

I feel a tear drip down my face.

He's here. He's really here!!

Alive.

"Cami, come here."

I crawl over to him and collapse into his waiting arms.

I pull back and he gasps.

"Your eyes... They're..Baby blue."

"Really?" I ask.

He nods.

"So are yours."

His eyes widen and we seem to be frozen there.

Our moment is shattered as Eleanor and Lucy sit up.

They squeal an make their way over to us.

After hugging us tightly, they face us.

They notice our eyes just as we are noticing theirs.

They're eyes are the same as ours.
