Chapter 9: A prisoner with guards in my own mate’s pack.

I woke up the moment the translucent sunlight peaked through the thick curtains of the windows.

The bed I was in was nice and spacious.

And then I realized it was too spacious.

My eyes widened as my head snapped towards my right, where nothingness greeted me. My heart sank a little when I realized I was alone in the room.

  Where was Ev-

I mean The Alpha. I still wasn't going to call him his real name. Not until he let Cade go.

I tried to ignore the lonely pit in my stomach as I slowly climbed out of bed. My bare feet were cold as they touched the cool marble floor. I shivered slightly, making sure there was nobody around before I shut my eyes and adjusted the atmosphere to a temperature of my liking.

I could hear shuffling downstairs, but it didn't belong to the Alpha's. Frowning, I went to the bathroom and hesitantly picked out a clean-looking toothbrush, washed my face and went back to the bedroom.

A stack of clothing lay on the bed, where I had been sleeping. I assumed it was from Megan. The style made me remember that I had training soon.

Pulling on the large white top and black tights that reached my knees, I slapped my hair into a ponytail before I made my way downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen, only to find 2 unknown guys standing there. They were laughing about something and eating breakfast, but froze when they heard me come in.

"Good morning, Luna," One of the guys said, bowing down in respect.

My eyebrow shot up, realizing what he had called me. The female Alpha title of the pack didn't belong to me.

  "It's Evangeline," I told him.

"Yes, Lu-" His eyes widened for a fraction before he winced, "Evangeline."

I smiled at him, making him look a little fazed. I supposed he thought I would be like some stuck up prissy girl all because I was his Alpha's mate.

According to Cade, that's what most Luna's were like.

"I'm Tyson,” The same guy that had greeted me introduced himself. He had a cute baby face, with warm brown eyes shaded with laughter and floppy brown hair. Dimples formed in his cheeks when he grinned. I smiled again, knowing that I'd like him already.

"Daniel, the Alpha’s third in command," The other guy piped in. He had spiky blonde hair and light blue eyes. Compared to Tyson, he seemed a little brooding. But when he offered me a slight simper, I couldn't help but nod and smile back.

"It's nice to meet you both," I told them as I walked to the fridge, flipped it open and started rummaging inside for any source of food. I was starving.

When I grabbed a clean cup from the dish holder and fork, I couldn't help but notice that Tyson's and Daniel's sharp gazes were watching my every move.

Perhaps it was just me, but when I finally took a seat at the counter with my apple and orange juice, Daniel was eyeing my fruit as though I were snow white and it were poisoned.

"Err, guys?" I asked, trying to contain my laughter, "Why exactly are you glaring at my apple as though it’s a suspect in murder?"

Instantly, their strict stares snapped up. An adorable blush rose up at Tyson's cheeks, while Daniel coughed, looking equally embarrassed.
