"Dammit!" He yelled. "Go find your friends and get outside the school!"

I nodded and jumped a few stairs at a time, looking for Melissa.

I looked behind me once, and he was gone.

~~~~~~~~~~
The flames were building in front of me. I was still high up, but I couldn't get down the stairs fast enough.
Fire scared me. It reminded me of how my closest friend died.
Her house had been set on fire in the middle of the night. I was awake, texting her.
The moment she didn't answer, I looked out my window, across the street where she lived. Her two story house was exactly like mine. We both had the top story room with a window facing each other.
And a flicker of flame had caught onto the curtains of her room, a shadow of a man lighting it. Her body lay motionless on her bed.
Not dead, I had hoped. She's not dead.
I shook in horror, calling 911. My last text to her was 'C u 2morrow.'
I was going to see her tomorrow.
I jumped out my window, landing on the bushes. I climbed up to her window; the shadow was gone. The flames barred my entrance.
I climbed back down to her front yard, knocking and ringing the doorbell as loud as I could.
That's when the firefighters arrived. I had tears streaming down my face and they threw the door open.
One came out immediately with her little sister and brother in his arms. They were knocked out with chloroform. Her mom and dad too.
But when they got to her, stabbed. She had fought back, and for that she was given the quicker death.
Coughing, I leaned back against the wall.
And fell into it.
Shock and fear flashed across my face.
An old rag with chloroform was being pressed to my mouth. But to help me from breathing in smoke?
Or kidnap me?
I didn't know, because at that point, I blacked out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

I woke up in a dark room. It looked like the fire wasn't in here or coming here anytime soon.

I tried to stand, and that's when I noticed I was strapped to a chair via duct tape.

"Shit!" I muttered, angrily.

"Reyanna! How nice of you to join us!" I looked around for the voice, but I didn't see anyone.

I decided to keep him talking to see if I could recognize it.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"The golden question, indeed! Where are you? Well, for starters, you're in a dungeon." It was a voice I hadn't heard since my first day here.

The Headmaster's.

What had clued me in was the dungeon part.

"I didn't attack a teacher though." I said, letting him know I knew who he was.

"Oh, I know that my dear Reyanna. But it is, in fact, your turn to be a monster, like your friend, Melissa's friend."

"You're the fucking monster here, you biotch!" I yelled.

"Is that any way to treat your headmaster? And soon, possibly, your Alpha? That is, if you survive."

I gasped. And he laughed. Hysterically, I might add.

Someone behind me came up with a needle. Probably my poison.

I squirmed, but someone came up and held my head.

The Headmaster walked into the little circle of light.

I spit on him, and he slapped me.

"If you survive, I'll get you back for that. A million times over!"

"Then I hope I survive. 'Cause I'll beat the shit out of you!"

"Have fun trying." He said in a taunting voice.

My best comeback I had was, "I will." And then a searing pain went up in my neck, exactly opposite of where I was marked.
