"I'm sorry Maddie, you're not a compatible donor to Sabina."

God no! What will happen to my Sabina. I felt numb. Matt held me as I began to slide down. This can't be. My daughter is too young to bear all this.

"There's one who could be the compatible donor.." Dr. Lazarus paused. He looks uncertain.

"And who would that be?" Matt asked him.

"Sabina's biological father"

Both men were looking at me now. Yeah right, Sabina's biological father.

Brandon Hudson attended the same university as I did.

"Hi, may I seat here?"

He pulled the chair beside me. I am reviewing for my midterm exams in the library. I am on my 2nd to the last semester before graduating my bachelor's degree in Nursing.

I nodded. I always see him at the library. In his white coat, he's definitely a med student.

"I'm Brandon. And you are?"

"Maddie"

I look down immediately at my notes after exchanging pleasantries. But I couldn't understand a bit on the lesson I am reviewing. How could I? A gorgeous man was beside me. On the side of my eyes I can see his stares. Ohh gosh. I can't be tempted now. Men are distractions to my studies. Quietly, I gathered my things and left the library.

"Maddie, wait!'

Wrong move. Brandon followed me. I turned around.

" I know this is awkward, you may think we just met. But ...err ....."

He stammered. His face was flushed red. I waited what he'll gonna say

"Care to join me for lunch?"

Since it is almost lunch time, I agreed. That started the many lunches we had in the campus.

"Here comes the lovey doveys " Ella teased as we approached their table in the canteen. She's my best friend.

Brandon grinned. For some time, he's been courting me but I can't really fall on his charms. It's final term now and soon I will be entering my last semester.

"We'll be having a send off party for Johnny on Saturday night. No excuses allowed."

"But...."

"Uhhh.. Uhh...no excuses allowed "

Ella interrupted my protest. So I confirmed my attendance. I needed actually to loosen up a bit. My projects and my quizzes fed me up.

Saturday night, we've rented a three bedroom cottage. Beers and liquors are flowing. I kept on giggling on every joke cracked.

"Madz, can you still manage?" Brandon whispered. He knew I am not a drinker and yet i'm on my sixth beer. I am tipsy and gone blank.
