I pull off my cloak. It's been so long since I've seen a lake or pond. My prison didn't exactly have bodies of water. I pull my hair up as I enter the pool. It's been so long since I felt the clear water on my skin. The stones at the bottom of the pond feel smooth. I feel the water beating against it.
I let out a breath. I splash the water onto my arms. He's out there. If he breaks free, my father will kill me and him. I move my fingers down my hair. I don't think it would matter either way. I think he hates me as much as him, if not more so. I hear Runaan coming.
"Can you really not stay one minute without me?" I ask.
"Don't read into it." He pulls off his clothes.
He enters the pool. I let out a breath. I turn my head slightly.
"Aaravos." He breathes.
"Hm?" I ask.
"Those scars..." He reaches his hand out.
I grab it immediately.
"Don't touch them." I hiss.
"Who did that to you?" He asks.
"It's complicated." I look down.
"Try me." He says.
