Shattered

It had already been a month since Malachi left and we broke up, I've been staying with Mateo and his family. They've been good to me, I hangout with his little sister when he gets annoying and his parents welcomed me like I was one of their own. Mateo let me sleep in his bed while he slept on the floor, I offered him the bed and I would sleep on the floor but he kept on refusing.

I was in the sitting room on my phone, then I stumbled on Malachis instagram story. I wanted to see what he was up to so I looked and it was him and a girl, they were hugging. He had his hands around her waist while she had hers around his, Malachi was looking down at her. I couldn't stop staring, I could feel tears in my eyes, i thought I had moved on from Malachi but I didn't know now. I was reconsidering my feelings for him, I ran upstairs to the bathroom in mateos ensuit room and locked the door, I was embarrassed I didn't want anyone to see me like this. I kept on thinking to myself, did I make the wrong choice? Should I have stayed in a relationship with Malachi? What if he doesn't care about me anymore? What if he has a new girlfriends?
I couldn't keep my tears in, I balled my eyes out thinking if Malachi ever loved me.

I heard a knock on the door, I stopped crying and looked up
"Y/n, you in there?" I heard a voice, it was Mateo, I slowly got up, walked to the door and unlocked it. The door opened wide open, Mateo saw me, I was a mess.
"Omg y/n what happened?" He said coming inside and locking the door behind so no one could come in. I showed him the picture of Malachi and some girl, Mateo hugged me
"Oh y/n, I'm so sorry, I thought you moved on though?" He said letting go of the hug
"I know, I thought I did aswell, but I guess not."
"It's okay y/n, you will it just takes time."
"But, but what if I can't move on."
"Don't worry y/n, you're overthinking too much, you just need distractions, how about we go to the arcade tomorrow and forget about this!" Mateo said trying to lighten up the mood. I appreciated him, he's always helped me
"I would love that, thank you Mateo." I said and gave him a hug.

*the next day*

I woke up and went into the bathroom to shower and do my skincare. I got changed and done my makeup

Mateo walked into his bathroom where I was
"You ready?" He asked
"Yep let's go!" I said, we ran downstairs
"Hey mum, me and y/n are going out." He said kissing her cheek
"Okay have fun!" She said. We got into maters car and he started driving, the arcade wasn't too far only 15 minutes.

We arrived at the arcade, we started playing some games. Mateo was the only one that actually helped me get over Malachi, I was so grateful for him. I haven't messaged Ariana Evelyn or anyone since the break, through these tough times he helped me so much and I wish I could repay him. Some fans of Malachi came up to us and asked about him
"Is Malachi still away filming?"
"Uhh yeah he is." I said looking down
"Oh umm are you still together, I mean his story and posts say otherwise." The curious fan asked
"Look, you seem really nice but I'm sorry that's just too personal I'm sorry." I said and walked off with Mateo
"Hey you okay?" He asked
"Yeah, just trying to not think about him."
Mateo gave me a hug and we decided to go around shopping in the mall as it was right next to the arcade.
