"We are married now, and she is my wife. Now, she is not Devangana Kashyap; she is Devangana Sathvik Acharya, Sathvik Acharya's wife, the Acharya family's only daughter-in-law. And I will not hear a single word against my wife," Sathvik said coldly.

"Just because you married her doesn't change the fact that she is a girl with loose morals, and she took advantage of you when you were at your lowest point, being heartbroken and all. I heard the whole story, okay? About how you two missed your train and spent a night together. Don't think you can pull wool over everyone's eyes," Babita said, and Sathvik saw a teenager frowning in confusion while listening to the story.

Sathvik smirked.

"Mrs. Mishra, you should have at least changed the plot a little. Then maybe it would have looked legit," Sathvik said, making Babita frown.

Sathvik turned to look at the teenage girl nearby.

"You heard the story the woman just said, right? Have you heard that anywhere before?" Sathvik asked.

The girl nodded.

"Then tell them where you heard the story," Sathvik prompted.

"Jab We Met. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor's famous movie. I have watched it many times," the girl said.

"Exactly. I was trying so hard to figure out where I have heard this story before," another woman said.

All the hateful eyes turned on Babita.

"Babita, we know you have a grudge against the Kashyap family ever since Ishaan hit your son, but we didn't expect you to point a finger at Devangana's character in revenge," another woman said, shaking her head.

"Why did Ishaan hit her son?" Sathvik asked. If the guy is anything like his mother, then he definitely deserved the punch, Sathvik thought.

"Rehaan bhaiyya gave Angana di a love letter, so Ishaan bhaiyya punched him," the teenage girl provided the information.

"Love letter?" Sathvik asked in amusement, which soon turned into a frown. If Ishaan punched Rehaan for a love letter, what would he do when he hears about how he married Devangana? Sathvik gulped, a bit scared at Ishaan's reaction. Ishaan had punched one of their employees too for ill talking about Devaa. The guy is so protective over his sister. He could imagine what Ishaan's reaction would be, when he comes to know about this marriage.

Babita hurried away from the group of people, humiliated by the turn of events.

Sathvik turned to see Devangana staring at him blankly. Devangana's mother was still crying, and Nilima looked worried at the two ladies.

"I..." Sathvik trailed off, not knowing what to say.

"Sathvik, I think we should go home and talk," Nilima said.

Sathvik nodded and held Devangana's hand. Devangana looked down at his hands and then looked at him again. She was staring at him blankly. He could see that she was in shock. Her hands were clammy, her skin looked pale, her pupils were dilated, and she had a dazed look in her eyes. Hopefully, nothing serious, Sathvik prayed. He led her towards the car, and she walked with him, still not reacting to anything.

"Oh, god," Tripti cried. Nilima held the weeping woman in her arms and led her to the car.

Acharya Mansion!

Sathvik held a glass of salty lime juice to Devangana's lips. Her colour was coming back, and Sathvik sighed when she blinked and focused on him.

"You? You married me?" Devangana asked, feeling as if she just came out of a trance.

Sathvik kneeled in front of her and held her hands in his.

"Devangana, I am sorry I did that without your consent, but she was talking so disgustingly about you, and I didn't even think about what I was doing," Sathvik said apologetically.

"Your behaviour has become so impulsive lately, Sathvik. How could you just marry her like that?" Charan asked. He was filled in on the events by Nilima as soon as they arrived.

Tripti sat next to her daughter. She had informed her husband and son about the sudden marriage during their car journey.

Devangana hugged her mother and cried.

"I am sorry, momma. It's all because of me. You had to hear all that because of my lie," Devangana cried, the full effect of what happened that morning coming out.

"It's not your fault, Devangana. I am the one who dragged you into my mess. I am the one responsible for the accusations on your character. But I promise, Devangana, no more. I will never let any harm come your way," Sathvik promised.

"Where is he?" They looked up to see a furious Ishaan and a worried Indrajith rushing inside.

Sathvik stood up to greet them but staggered back when Ishaan's fist connected with his nose.

"Ouch," Sathvik held his nose, pain piercing through him.

"Ishu," Tripti held back her son from pouncing at Sathvik again.

"How dare you? We said no, right? No means no. And you went ahead and married her forcefully so that you can get custody of the child. How dare you use my sister like that?" Ishaan yelled at Sathvik, trying to get out of his family's hold.

"Ishaan, calm down. Listen to what happened first," Tripti chided.

Nilima and Tripti proceeded to explain what happened at the temple, and Ishaan shot a guilty look at Sathvik.

"You still shouldn't have married her like that," Ishaan said.

"I didn't know what to do then. I acted on my instinct," Sathvik admitted.

Roop, the house help, walked in with Muskaan, who had woken up from her nap. Muskaan had her sippy cup held close to her tightly in her chubby fists.

"Debaal," she squealed as she noticed Devangana sitting on the couch. Devangana looked up and smiled at Muskaan.

"Down, down," Muskaan demanded, and Roop let the little girl down.

Muskaan toddled over to Devangana. Devangana picked her up and settled Muskaan on her lap and pressed a loud kiss on her cheeks. Muskaan giggled happily.

Indrajith sighed.

"Mrs. Acharya, can I get a glass of water, please?" he asked.

"Of course, of course. Where are my manners? And please call me Nilima," Nilima rushed to get drinks and snacks for the Kashyaps.

Muskaan, who heard the old man asking for water, extended her sippy cup towards him.

"Mussy sippy," she said, letting him know that he can drink from her sippy cup.

Indrajith's heart melted into a puddle at the cuteness. He smiled at the little girl and held the sippy cup.

"Thank you," he said, not wanting to refuse the child.

Muskaan snuggled into Devangana.

"What next?" Tripti asked the question that was on everyone's tongue.
