"Well, look who decided to show up on time! I'm impressed kid, really, I am!" Wukong beamed as he opened the door to his wooden hut to be greeted by his successor. Mk nodded and rubbed the back of his neck as he gave the king a chuckle, "Yup, trying to fix my sleep schedule and stuff! It's working like a charm!"

The Monkey King took his successor by the hand and lead him to the back door, where they now usually held training since it was in the back, so if anything got destroyed then nobody would see it. Hopefully.

"Ok!" Sun Wukong clapped his hands together with a smile. Mk plucked the staff out of his ear and leaned onto it lazily as he asked, "What are we gonna do today? You didn't tell me last week and I've been wondering what it was ever since!"

Wukong felt his grin slightly fall. He twirled a lock of orange hair around his finger nervously as he started, "So uh, I didn't really want to tell you what we're doing today because... I didn't want you to freak out. But hear me out! We're gonna... Uh.."

He paused and took a deep breath--what's the worst that could happen? Right?

"We're gonna try to train your monkey form imsorrykidwereallycantignorethisanymore-" He blurted out all at once and closed his eyes. He didn't want to see Mk's reaction at all. The look the kid had on his face whenever Wukong tried to bring up the monkey form topic always felt like he was just gutted from the inside out. It made him physically sick.

A loud thud made Wukong slightly opened an eye, and much to his horror, the big smile Mk once wore had fallen into a stare that perfectly displayed the emotions of dread, horror, fear, and disgust. The staff clanged onto the ground as Mk fixed his posture, as if he was on high alert, and he just stared at him. The two stood in tense silence as Wukong's tail flicked around anxiously, hoping for Mk to say something. Was he going to protest? Was he going to cry? What was going to happen?

"I..." The kid began, then lost his words and continued spacing out. Wukong frowned and put a hand on Mk's shoulder, but was surprised when that made the apprentice flinch back. Wukong retracted his hand immediately and sighed sadly as guilt consumed and corrupted his overall well being.

"Mk, we have to." Wukong finally said, "I hate to see you scared of this, really, I do. But it'll only get harder if it never comes up." The king said with an ounce of sadness. Seeing Mk react just by mentioning it ripped his heart in half like it was as fragile as paper. He felt guilty, for not telling the kid, for springing this onto him, for forcing him to learn how to control his crazy power. But the topic was always shoved off, and Mk wanted to avoid it for as long as he could. He probably avoided it for too long. Mk looked pale in the face as if the mere thought of even attempting to use that form would make him evaporate into nothing. He continued spacing out before he shakily muttered, "Do we have to..?"

"Unfortunately, yeah, we really have to. I'm sorry." Wukong inhaled nervously and held one of him arms tight, he could feel awkwardness, anxiety, and could almost smell a hint of betrayal in the air between the two. Mk bit his lip and picked at his fingernails for a bit, probably thinking of a way to get out of this with no luck, until he eventually nodded slowly and shuffled from side to side.
