It was the time before dawn. Sid and Sana were walking aimlessly in the almost empty roads of Mumbai. There were very few vehicle on the roads. It felt that they were the only people in the world who were still awake at that time. Sleep was far away from both of their eyes.

"Hum almost puri raat aise chal rahe hai." Said Sana suddenly noticing the time.

"Iss raat ki subah kabhi nahi honi chahiye." Said Sid to which Sana smiled slightly.

They both were sad from inside. The incident that took place in the farewell party, they didn't expect it. Pri and Anki were together since school days. They were madly in love with each other. Who could expect that they would end up like this?

After that incident, Sid and Sana also didn't stay at the farewell party for long and left from there. Since then they had been walking together without any destination.

"Tujhe kya lagta hai?" Asked Sana. "Pri aur Anki ka jhagra zaldi khatam ho jayega na? Waise bhi hum unhe jaante hai. Ek dusre ke bina zyada din reh hi nahi sakte dono."

Sid nodded in no and said, "Nahi Sana. Maine unn dono ki aankhon mein iss baar kuch aur hi dekha tha. Yeh koi mamuli sa jhagra nahi tha. Bohut dino se Anki ke andar jo bhara hua tha woh sab ek dam se bahar nikal diya usne. Mujhe nahi lagta yeh sab zaldi thik hoga. Sayad kabhi na ho."

Sana became sad hearing that. After all they were their friends.

"Tujhe paata hai Sana, mujhe inn sab pyaar aur commitment pe kabhi bharosa nahi tha. Mere khayal se har rishta sirf adjustment pe teeka hota hai. Bachpan se apne Mom Dad ko hi dekhta aaya hoon. Dono barso se sirf adjust karte aaye hai ek dusre ke saath. Kabhi meri khushi ke liye toh kabhi society ke liye. Roz ghar mein jhagre hote the. Mujhe bilkool accha nahi lagta tha yeh sab. Phir main bada hone laga. Pri aur Anki ka pyaar dekh ke laga nahi, sayad iss duniya mein abhi bhi pyaar bacha hai. Par aaj dekha kya hua? Woh dono bhi ek dusre ke saath sirf adjust hi kar rahe the. Humein toh paata hi nahi chala ki dono ko ek dusre se itni sikayatein thi. Aaj ek jhagre mein sab kuch bahar aa gaya. Itne saalon ka pyaar ek pal mein khatam ho gaya. Aaj unhone prove kar diya ki iss duniya mein sach mein pyaar exist nahi karta."

Sana was going to say that he was wrong. Love exists in this world. She loved him. But she stopped seeing teardrop in the corner of her eyes.

"Sid!" She uttered keeping her hand on his shoulder. For the first time she saw tears in his eyes which broke her heart. There was so much pain hidden inside him.

He smiled sadly and said, "Isliye mujhe commitment se nafrat hai. I'm happy with my dreams. Akele rahunga, apni zindagi apne terms se jeeunga."

"Tu bohut pyaar karta hai na apne khwabon se?" Asked Sana. She wished him if he could love her the same way he loved his dreams.

"Haan Sana. Aur ab main apne sapno ki ore apna pehla kadam badhane jaa raha hoon." Said Sid making Sana little confused.

Sidharth took out a letter from his bag and gave it to Sana. She read it.

"Journalism programme, North Western University mein admission, Chicago."

After reading she gave a huge smile and said excitedly, "Yeh scholarship letter hai. Tujhe scholarship mili hai?"

Sid nodded in yes.

Soon Sana's smile faded away and she said, "Iska matlab tu jaa raha hai?"

"Socha tha aaj farewell party mein tum sab ko surprise dunga. Par uss se pehle hi yeh sab ho gaya. Maine abhi tak Mom Dad ko bhi nahi baataya iss baare mein." Sid paused for sometime and then said, "Mujhe bohut darr lag raha hai Sana."
