My heart dropped from my chest to my stomach, stunned as I stared back at the enchanting, ghostly pale wide-eyed visitor who was still as a stone.

Her expression appeared beyond astonished to see me, accompanied by a look of relief.

I was speechless, unable to speak as my heart painfully ached — both with perplexity, hurt, and mitigation all at once.

"Scarlett?" Her angelic, concerned voice spoke.

I couldn't answer at first, still in shock that she actually returned, and was here after all this time.

"Alice," I whispered, gawking back at her.

She then suddenly rushed up to me in one graceful stride, locking her slim, firm arms around me as her dark cropped hair brushed past my face, and leaned her head over my shoulder in her embrace.

"Oh, Scarlett!" She cried. "I'm so relieved to see you!"

After a moment of hesitation and disbelief, I finally wrapped my arms around her, as she quietly held onto me.

"You are?" I sounded surprised.

"I was so worried!" Her voice trembled as she pulled away an inch. "I thought that..."

She trailed off, briefly looking down.

"Thought what?"

She paused for a moment. "I miraculously saw a vision of you, and saw you surfing on the ocean, before you fell and hit your head against the board — then it went black as you sunk into the water."

"You saw that?" I asked, puzzled.

"Yes," she insisted. "I know I haven't been able to see many visions of you before, but this one somehow came to me — I panicked and got on a plane as soon as I could, fearing the worst possible scenario — that you had drowned and didn't make it."

"You did?" I probed. "You didn't see that I washed up on shore, and survived the fall?"

"No," she shook her head. "That's why I was shocked when I saw you walk in — I came by immediately to see if I could possibly help Bella or Charlie through what happened, again assuming the worst — I never saw that you were alive after that."

"Well, I did live," I pointed out. "I only obtained a small cut on my head, but I'm still alive."

"Are you okay?" She asked worriedly. "Did you see a doctor?"

"I'm as fine as I can be from that — I didn't need to see a doctor," I responded. "It was just a surfing accident that can happen to anyone — nothing worse."

"Since when did you start surfing?" She asked, surprised.

"A couple of months ago," I answered. "A... friend of mine in La Push offered to teach me — it's fun, and I've become quite decent at it."
