As the door swung open, Lucian's eyes widened in surprise. The room was bathed in a cascade of colors, with vibrant streamers hanging from the ceiling and balloons of every shape and size bobbing above. His friends at Ilvermorny had truly outdone themselves. Lily's delicate brush strokes had brought life to the walls, with murals depicting magical creatures dancing beneath a moonlit sky. The smell of freshly baked cake mingled with the intoxicating scent of juniper and wildflowers, creating an atmosphere that was both enchanting and festive.

Noah clapped Lucian on the back, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Happy birthday, buddy!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with infectious enthusiasm. "Welcome to your own personal wonderland!"

Lucian's gaze shifted from the mesmerizing decorations to the muggle radio sitting on a nearby table. Soft melodies wafted through the air, filling the room with a sense of rhythmic energy. Hermione caught Lucian's eye from across the room, her warm brown eyes sparkling with excitement.

Lucian's eyes widened in shock as he recognized the familiar figure standing in front of him. He quickly made his way over. "How on earth did you manage to get past the door?" he asked in disbelief.

Hermione chuckled, her voice carrying a hint of pride. "Well, you know me, Lucian. I can work my way around any enchantment or ward if it means throwing the perfect surprise party for someone I care about."

Lucian couldn't help but smile at Hermione's resourcefulness. She always had a way of going above and beyond to make the people she cared about feel special. "I can't believe you did all of this," he said, his voice filled with genuine awe. "It's absolutely incredible."

Hermione blushed, looking slightly flustered by his praise. "Oh, it was nothing, really. Just wanted to make your birthday memorable." She shifted nervously on her feet, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "I hope you like it."

"Loved it," Lucian replied, sincerity lacing his words. "And I can't thank you enough for putting all this together. It means the world to me."

As they leaned into each other, lost in the heat of the moment, Noah's voice shattered their bubble. "Hey, why don't you two join us for a round of Fire Wizz pong?" Hermione turned to Lucian with a furrowed brow, unsure of what he meant. "It's just a drinking game," he reassured her with a grin. But Hermione's stomach twisted in knots at the thought - she had never touched alcohol before.

Hermione's mind raced as she hesitated. She had always been the responsible one, the rule follower. But now, at 15 years old (16 in just a few months), she was being invited to play a drinking game with older students. She knew it was against school rules and worried about getting caught. But a part of her also felt excited for the opportunity to let loose and have fun like everyone else. She couldn't help but wonder what Ron and Harry would think if they found out.

Lucian turned his head and saw the crease between Hermione's eyebrows. Her lips were pressed together in concern. "We can skip it if you're not up for it," he said gently, placing a hand on her shoulder.
