Pt12. Game Plan

"Once we're inside it's your show, but getting in should be left up to me." You peer down, your gaze scanning over the ground. There didn't seem to be any openings to exploit, the entire area much too open for a ground assault.

"So what do you recommend? Without my tech I can't do anything to the systems remotely. If we could get our hands on one of the doctor's robots while it's functional that would be a different story..." Tails sighs to himself, "That's impossible.. Not helpful... sorry..."

You shake your head, eyes still scanning over the area. "Your head's in the right place, keep it up. If we both focus on our strengths there's bound to be something we can figure out."
Indirect assault would be the only way, even capturing a single mech likely too much for either of you to do in your current conditions. Tails probably couldn't fly high enough to get you both out of line of sight either, and even if he could there's no way he could cover that distance while carrying you without being exhausted.

Tails glances over at you, your mind deep in contemplation as the exhaustion caused his to wander.
You looked similar to when you disarmed the mech back at the Resistance headquarters, such a calculated and strong focus... He looked over your eyes as they shimmered in the dim light cast into the night. You still looked a mess all things considered but... it was still mesmerizing to watch you. The way that you tapped a finger gently as you thought; the small mouth movements as you contemplated different angles of approach.. He found more and more that his suspicions were coming true. It was hard to focus with you nearby, and given the recent stress was probably a huge factor in that- it was still hard to think about moving forward when all he wanted to do was sit and talk with you.

That was the only good thing that came out of getting blasted away into that cave...

He glances your arm and grimaces. Was this really the first thing in his head right now? After getting attacked in the night and chased by robots? This was no time to fantasize, you both had to ACT... He would protect you this time... For real this time...

Chaos energy is a form of unstable power, it can be used similar to electricity as long as you're able to convert it from random waves and frequencies into stable and directed outputs. I've done it for my planes several times... So what caused the errors in the beginning of development?
Tails hummed to himself in thought...
Incorrect power input; Circuit overflows due to improper distribution of energy; An outside force acting on the power supply; Other emeralds being nearby; Underflow of power...

He looks up to you, "East, I have an idea..."

You look up, still partly in thought, "That's good, because I'm not having the best luck finding an angle..."

He furrows his brow as he continued to think it over, "So, Chaos Emeralds emit a frequency of power, similar to radio waves. If we can somehow block it's signal from traveling I think we can both sneak in and destroy the place using the same tactic. I've had similar things happen in the lab when I was trying to integrate the emeralds into machines. When it gets blocked it overflows in the circuit and causes a meltdown."

Your eyes light up, "So you're basically saying that we're going to put a lid on the power? It'll build up on it's own til it explodes!" You get excited for a moment, but quickly settle back down. "Wait, how can you be sure we could use it to sneak in too? I understand the concept of causing a power backup but how will that translate to sneaking?"

He smiles a big smug grin, "Eggman's no fool, but he's also not fast enough to adapt the new tech to all his robots. The ones we fought were the same garden variety as always. We may have had a hard time with them but it was the same as always."
