3rd Point Of View

It took the rest of the evening for Sukuna to finally give in to that annoying voice in his head that told him to find (Y/n) and sort out this mess that he'd put them both in. Not having the girl sit beside his throne as he attended to villager complaints really knocked some perspective into him. Sukuna wasn't going to apologize- no, because Sukuna has never apologized a day in his life. If he was going to do this, he'd do it his way.

"Come with me." Sukuna suddenly demanded gruffly as he warped beside the (L/n) who was in the middle of translating a scroll at her usual spot on the floor. (Y/n) flinched upon Sukuna's arrival but that was as far as her reaction got. She kept her gaze locked on the scroll infront of her and continued to write, ignoring the king of curses so very easily, making him roll his eyes.

"Come with me or I'll kill all those men that have you acting out against me." Sukuna then reiterated, changing the stakes because she would not show him obedience unless feeling threatened. And just as he thought, (Y/n) slowly looked up at him, her eyes showing how bedrudging her eye-contact was. That's when Sukuna walked away, expecting the girl to follow behind him.

(Y/n) huffed as she stood up, following behind him as he walked down the hallway- just as he wished. It wasn't long before she recognised the route that he was taking her, especially when they'd walked through the back exit of the temple and down the side of building to that familiar staircase that led underground. As Sukuna commanded the doors open with just jujustu, (Y/n) paused at the top of the staircase hesitantly- not wanting to go back down there.

"Don't make me drag you down here." Sukuna warned as he walked through the doors. (Y/n) frowned as she finally began to descend the staircase and enter the dungeons, that familiar darkness washing over her like it did the first time that she'd been down here. Sukuna used his jujutsu to light his fingers on fire before shooting arrows at the candles, setting them aflame and casting a warm glow throughout the dungeon- unveiling the captured men to (Y/n).

The men scuffled back to the rear end of their cells upon seeing Sukuna, his red eyes seeming like they were glowing. From here (Y/n) could see the red resentment that radiated off his aura and he looked into the eyes of each of prisoner. (Y/n) frowned guilty as she stared at them, knowing she could not help them if Sukuna didn't want them to be helped. Maybe she'd be able to convince him one day, but in order to do that she would have to begin talking to him again.

"Good evening, gentlemen." Sukuna grinned, looking around the room with pure power.
"What do you want?" One man whispered, his Japanese accent broken and odd-sounding.
"I want to apologise, of course." Sukuna grinned, making (Y/n) quickly turn to look at him with wide eyes. What was he doing?
"Apologise?..." Another man echoed unsurely.

"Yes," Sukuna confirmed, "I want to apologise for my sheer disrespect, it was incredibly rude for me to capture and transfer you all to a different country like a bunch of cattle. Please, accept my deepest regrets." (Y/n)'s lips parted with shock, unable to get past the fact that those words were actually leaving his lips. His red aura indicated that every word was a lie, making her fail to understand what was happening right now.

"I have taken some time to think on it and I have decided that in compensation for my actions, I will be giving you this girl. With her, you may do whatever you wish." Sukuna smirked, not even looking in (Y/n)'s direction. The girl's jaw dropped instantly at his words, sensing his lies but still completly unable to piece together his intentions. At Sukuna's 'promise', quiet chatter took over the dungeons.

"This girl?" A man muttered, looking (Y/n) up and down with narrowed eyes, judging every part of her body. "She's too old to give to Yanfei but we could probably sell her to Chifung?"
"Yes, she's exactly in Chifung's age-range!" Another agreed eagerly. At this, (Y/n) froze. They knew Yanfei...Chifung too who was another Chinese ambassador known for his tastes within the slave industry.

"You're..." (Y/n) couldn't bare say the next word, unable to believe her ears. This couldn't be right.
"Traders." Sukuna finished for her, not looking directly at her, watching as her hands trembled by her sides, "They're all traders- every single one." (Y/n) lips trembled, feeling as if her world was crumbling beneath her feet. These were the men she was fighting Sukuna for? The same men that ruined her life?

"N-no... You're lying. They said they were farmers!" (Y/n) objected, a tear running down her face as she fell into denial.
"Yes, and what a lovely synonym that is." Sukuna replied, his words sarcastic but his stone stoic as he watched the girl stumble back from the cells. A few seconds later, she'd turned her back to Sukuna and ran through the dungeon doors and up the staircase, tears running down her cheeks.

Sukuna sighed as he followed behind her, ignoring the complaints of the prisoners and roughly closing the dungeons doors behind him without a care in the world. When he turned towards the staircase, he immediately noticed (Y/n), sitting halfway up the staircase with her head buried into her arms, tears running down her cheeks. Sukuna could feel her wave of regret, shame and sadness wash over him.

Sukuna climbed the first few steps until he was directly infront of her before kneeling down so that he was eye-level with her.
"Your technique can help you see many things, Little (L/n). But when the people tell you a sliver of truth, your technique becomes too trusting- just like you." Sukuna then told her softly as he poked her forehead. The girl then looked up at him with saddened eyes, red and filled with tears.

"Do you still want to free them?" Sukuna then asked the girl with raised brows. "Are you still furious with me?" He then asked again, not expecting an answer.
"Why didn't you tell me?" (Y/n) then asked with broken eyes. She couldn't believe she spent so long being angry for him and he'd just put up with it because he knew the truth would hurt her more than his lies.

"And miss out on your angry yelling or drunken fanatics? Never." Sukuna grinned as he stood up again.
"You must be furious with me...I got so mad at you and I said all those mean things." (Y/n) frowned, remembering the exact moment that she'd visibly hurt him- she saw it through her aura but didn't want to believe it at first. That was when she told Sukuna that he was her punishment- a cruel thing to say to anyone.

"I was frustrated, yes." Sukuna admitted with a sigh, "I was stuck between wanting to tell you the truth and wanting to sheild you from it." At that, (Y/n) felt her lips behin to tremble again.
"But, it was your silent treatment that made the decision exceptionally easier. I needed to get you speak to me or I knew I'd burn Japan to dust." Sukuna told her, his voice still holding confidence and yet (Y/n) could see from his aura that he did not feel that way on the inside.

Before he could say another word and before Sukuna could react, (Y/n) stood up quickly and launched herself at him for a hug. She melted into his warmth and wrapped her arms around as much of him as she possibly could, ignoring the way the he tensed under her touch.
"I'm sorry." (Y/n) whispered against his chest, her tears seeping into the fabric of his kimono.

"I didn't say you could touch me, you little brat." Sukuna grumbled, all four of his hands laid awkwardly by his sides, unsure of where to put them as she squeezed onto him tighter.
"You still haven't pushed me away though." The girl mumbled against him, making him scoff at her audacity. And although this physical contact was uncalled for, Sukuna knew that this was the beginning of something big- the addiction of feeling her warmth against him. Sukuna narrowed his eyes at the girl before saying,

"Maybe later."
