3rd Point Of View

"Send everyone home as I'm no longer in the mood to entertain. I'm done for today." Sukuna told the curse user who had just finished using his reversed technique to heal the two members of his staff's arms. The man didn't reply to Sukuna, only nodding as he ushered the other two men quickly out of the room, trying to block their view of Lord Sukuna so that the Lord wouldn't see how venomous their glares were. Sukuna, of course, did not notice. His eyes were glued elsewhere.

(Y/n) hadn't moved since Yumiko was dragged out, standing dead still as if she were a stone statue. Her eyes flickered to the blood on the floor, wondering whether the curse users healed Yumiko upon her departure too or if she was left to suffer. The lump in (Y/n)'s throat still felt like it was explaining and no matter how much she tried to push away the feeling, it only grew when she heard the loud chockes of those down the hallway.

"How long are you going to stand there as if someone had struck you across the face?" Sukuna asked with a raised brow as he stood up. (Y/n) stared down at her feet, not even looking up as Sukuna spoke. That was when he knew that it was not going to be easy to lift her mood back to her usual self. She stayed silent for a few seconds before deciding to speak, her voice hushed and weak.
"You...should have let her stab me." The girl mumbled, making Sukuna narrow his eyes at her.

"She was correct. I am the reason her daughter is dead and I am the reason that my mother is dead to. I was irresponsible and reckless and that got them both killed." (Y/n) mumbled, a burn clawing at the back of her throat. Sukuna sighed as he stepped down the stairs, making his way toward the girl.
"Maybe I should have let her stab you." He replied casually, "But tell me, what would that have accomplished?"

(Y/n) finally looked up at him with knotted brows, confused.
"Would it have changed the fact that your mother and that young girl are both dead?" Sukuna then asked her as he stepped closer to her, until he was right infront of her. (Y/n) was not intimidated, not at all focused on their proximity.
"Well, no but-" Sukuna cut off the girl immediately, not allowing her to continue.

"Exactly. No, it wouldn't have. And so now tell me, what would your death have accomplished?" Sukuna questioned.
"Closure." (Y/n) replied.
"Wrong." Sukuna fired back, "Your death would do nothing but infuriate me. And do you know what I do when I am furious?" The king of curses then asked.
"You...hurt people?" The girl replied guessingly, clearly hesitant with her answer.

"Exactly. So then even after your death, you'd still be the reason that a lot more that just two people are dead, yes?" Sukuna argued pointedly, his brow raised. (Y/n) nodded slowly, his words cruel but true. He was completely right.
"Words." Sukuna told her sternly.
"Yes." She whispered quietly.
"Then learn from this and never repeat like that again." Sukuna snapped, his anger seeping out slightly.

Did she really think he would have allowed that lady to stab her?
"Yes, sir." (Y/n) mumbled with shame, the lump in her throat slowly fading into her nothing, her guilt fading into acceptance. Sukuna couldn't feel more proud- it was too bad (Y/n) wasn't paying attention to the colour of his aura.
"That lady will be banned from my temple from today onwards. You will never see her again after today." Sukuna then told the girl as he began walking away, heading towards the open doors.

"Now, get back to painting. I have something I must attend to. I'll be back in an hour so do not go anywhere." Sukuna ordered as he walked. (Y/n) nodded as she watched him leave, her eyes following his every step. But the moment he was about to step into the hallway from the throne room, she felt the need to call out to him- to stop him.

"Sukuna, wait!" She called, not realising her mistake, too caught up in her thoughts and feelings. But Sukuna noticed. How could he not? Nobody had been brave enough to call by his name for years, and even then, he killed those who did. He stood there frozen for a few seconds, letting the way she said it so naturally replay across his mind over and over again.

Then, after he'd collected himself, Sukuna turned around with a casual hum, not mentioning her slip up or how if affected him.
"Yes?" The man asked her with a raised brow, calm and collected.
"Thank you." The girl whispered, her smile returning to her lips. Sukuna scoffed. That is why she dared call him by his name? To thank him? Did she even realise that she done it?

"Yeah, yeah." Sukuna huffed as he turned around again, "Gratitude is so tedious." After that comment, (Y/n) giggled but didn't say another word. When Sukuna was sure she wouldn't speak again, he started walking down the hall. He didn't chastise nor scold her for calling him by his name. Why?

Because...he hoped to hear her say it again.
