3rd Point Of View

"Are you ready?" Sukuna asked with an amused raised brow, watching as (Y/n) fidgeted beside him, unable to walk down the hallway that led to the throne room. Sukuna had only told her this morning about an offerings ceremony that he was hosting for her, giving her an hour to ready herself before people were to start coming in with gifts.

"Do we really have to do this?" (Y/n) asked nervously, pulling on her kimono as she looked back and forth from Sukuna to the end of the hallway.
"You do not want gifts?" Sukuna asked, cocking his head to the side with a look that showed that he already knew the answer. (Y/n) took her time with her response, gnawing on her bottom lip.

"It's just...that there will be so many people." (Y/n) mumbled to herself, making Sukuna raise his brow.
"And?" Sukuna asked dully, as if he did not see her point. The king of curses watched quietly for a few moments as the girl began biting the inside of her cheek, going from one side to the other as she lowered her gaze to her feet.
"After what happened at the market..." (Y/n) trailed off, unable to finish her sentence. But luckily, Sukuna knew what she meant.

"You should stand tall and proud to be my queen." Sukuna began as he stepped forward, "Queens do not become hindered by past experiences. Their eyes are set to the future." (Y/n)'s fingers then moved to fiddle with her hair. One finger brushed against the stem of a rose, reminding her of their appearance in her braids. It then occured to her that if she is to meet hundereds of people today, then flowers in her hair probably would not be the best look.

The girl then began pulling out to flowers, being careful not to mess up her braids as she plucked them out.
"What do you think you are doing?" Sukuna asked, his voice sounding slightly alarmed as he took a step forward, his hands grabbing onto (Y/n)'s to stop her actions. She sighed as she lowered her wrist, the first rose in hand.
"Nobody is going to take me seriously as your queen with these childish flowers in my hair." The girl told him pointedly, making his brows furrow.

"Do you know why I asked for vases of flowers to be placed around the entire temple?" Sukuna then suddenly asked questioningly, approaching (Y/n) until he was right infront of her with his hands now resting on her hips. (Y/n)'s lips pouted in response at his question.
"So that I could replace the flowers in my hair every morning...because you understood how much it meant to me." (Y/n) replied.

"Yes." Sukuna agreed half-heartedly, as if that weren't all to the answer, "But, do you know why I bothered to care about some silly flowers you liked to braid in your hair? Why I gave me unlimited access to plants that meant nothing to me?" At this question, (Y/n) shook her head slowly, not knowing why.
"I guess not." She admitted softly.
"Because the day that I first saw you with them...sitting there in the hallway with your braid infused with lilies...I was speechless." Sukuna admitted.

"I spent minutes staring at you before I even decided to speak up." The man told her, "Do you want to know why?" (Y/n) nodded in response, curiousity engulfing her. It wasn't every day that the man admitted to being rendered speechless.
"Because you looked stunning." Sukuna then said, making (Y/n) pause, a pink blush spreading across her cheeks. Stunning? Sukuna must have believed that because she'd never heard him admit to such a compliment. That gave (Y/n) the confidence she needed.

"So," Sukuna began, reaching for (Y/n)'s hand that still loosely held the rose. "Put those damned flowers back in your hair and hold yourself high because not a single thing about you needs to be changed for these people when I've already accepted each and every one of your quirks." (Y/n) nodded robotically at Sukuna's demand, her hands moving on their own in order to entwine the rose back into her braid.

"Now, come." Sukuna then ordered, offering the girl his hand when she had sorted herself out. He led her proudly to the throne room where Uraume was waiting with an open scroll of many names. But it wasn't Uraume that (Y/n)'s eyes travelled to first as she paused at the throne room entrance. It was the petite golden throne that sat beside Sukuna's throne at the centre of the raised platform.

(Y/n) froze, confusion taking over her face. Was that what she thought it was? It's details were extra-ordinary, golden phoenix's carves into the armrests and red velvet coating the cushions. It was the epitome of luxury and expense.
"What...what is that?" (Y/n) asked with a speechless exhale, her eyes never leaving the throne. It only seemed to become more majestic the longer she stared at it.

"I'm sure you are well accustomed to what a throne looks like, my lady." A familiar voice said from across the room, making (Y/n)'s head turn to see none other than a certain red-head girl. (Y/n) gasped loudly with excitement, joy filling her entire soul as she squealed.
"Kazuya!" The girl grinned as she left Sukuna's side, running over to her friend to embrace her in a tight hug. It hadn't been too long since they last saw eachother and yet somehow everything had changed since they last spoke.

"Was this you?" (Y/n) then asked as she motioned to the small and new throne, finding that to be her only explanation for being her unannounced.
"For the most part, yes. Creating furniture is a hobby of mine, but the lord is to thank for the high grade materials." Kazuya admitted, smiling as (Y/n) turned back to face Sukuna with suprised eyes.

"It was you who did this?" She then asked him, making him huff with amusement, deciding not to comment on the fact that she finally remembered the fact that he was still in the room.
"Are you suprised?" Sukuna asked with a raised brow as he took a slow step closer to her, his hands grasped together behind his back.

"I did not think I'd get my own throne." The (L/n) admitted to him softly.
"A queen should have her own throne, yes?" Sukuna asked her with a raised brow, making the girl smile cheekily.
"But what if she outshines her king?" (Y/n) teased, making him scoff loudly with amusementat her audacity.
"Do you mean to say that all eyes will be on you today?" Sukuna then asked.
"I mean..." (Y/n) giggled softly as she stepped closer, "It is my offerings ceremony... I'd hope so." She replied giddily, making Sukuna chuckle before pulling her in for a kiss.

They parted after a moment, (Y/n) turning to face Kazuya who was grinning with her eyes locked on the floor.
"Thank you for you work, Kazuya. It is beautiful." (Y/n) told her friend.
"Do me a favour and allow me to see you sit upon it before I leave." Kazuya asked gently, motioning to the seat.
"You're leaving already?" (Y/n) frowned, deflating immediately.

"As much as I'd love to stay and watch you get spoiled with rare treasures, I do have money to make." Kazuya joked, before motioning towards the throne with an encouraging look. (Y/n) gulped as she looked over at Sukuna who only nodded in response, as if he knew what her eyes were asking him. (Y/n) bit her lip as she approached her new throne, getting slower with her steps the closer she became.

She stopped when she was directly infront of it before inhaling a long slow breath. She then turned to look at Sukuna who hadn't moved from his spot at the centre of the room, his arms crossed over his chest with an aura of pride beaming off it. His pride was enough to encourage the girl to sit down slowly, taking her time until she was comfortably perched on her new throne- ready to be the queen Sukuna knew she'd become. Sukuna smirked as he watched the girl settle before saying,

"Uraume, send them in."

Chapter 86 Quote Teaser :

"They'll become powerful...and could quite possibly create something even more so. Without you to supress them, they'll simply just blend in with the world of curses. But I will paint them in bold. I will ensure their thriving and success. That is my offering to you, my lady."
