Sydney's POV

Today is officially my first day as a spy, I'm heading back to Spain with Ricardo.

I already told the girls in the group chat that I'm going back to Spain.

Isabel knows why I'm going, I haven't told Leah yet. But I'm going to.

"Why are you going back?" Ricardo asked taking the private plane seat next to me.

I looked at him. I knew that for this mission I needed to lie to him.

"Um, I left some of my stuff there" I came up with a quick excuse.

He looked at me in disbelief, "But you could ask me to send it to you?" he didn't believe me.

I sighed and just looked down at the houses that looked so tiny now.

"Ric, my wedding is in 2 weeks anyway. I might as well be in Spain already" The excuse came out better than I thought.

"You're really going through with that?" he asked. I turned to look at him, "I don't have a choice so it's better not to protest" I shrugged.

"I might not like Antonio, yes. But I can't just protest against it, that will just get me killed. So I might as well just melt into the mould of Antonio's wife" I looked back out the window.

"But—" I cut him "I don't want you to change my mind" I snapped.

Everything I just said was a lie. But necessary.

"Señor" one of my brothers men called. (Translation: Sir)

As he stood up I couldn't help but look at him and internally apologise for lying and for all the lies I'll have to tell him in the next two weeks.

--------------

We arrived at my father's Estate, Ricardo wasn't talking to me ever since our conversation.

He had business to attend to and left me to go in by myself.

As I unpacked in the room I had previously stayed, I vowed to myself about a 'no crying' policy.

I'm not gonna cry about anything in my stay here.

I heard a knock on my door.

I hope it's just what I think it is, it will help the plan run smoothly.

"Come in," I said maintaining my composure.

A maid opened the door. "Señora, a su padre le gustaría verla en su oficina" she informed. (Translation: Madam, your father would like to see you now in his office)

My heart flipped in joy, just what I needed.

I still hate my father, keep that in mind.

I just needed to see him so I could go to step 2.
