Leah's POV

I watched as Antonio took Sydney, and soon disappeared into the crowd.

I was worried, but I trusted that she was gonna be okay.

I went to grab some water, and as I drank "Uh, you're Sydney's friend right?" I turned to a man.

He similarly has a resemblance to Sydney.

"Yes," I nodded. "I'm Leah, and you?" I asked. "I'm Ricardo, her brother."

Ohhh

Well, that makes sense.

"Nice to meet you, Syd talks a lot about you" I smiled warmly.

"Really? What does she say?" he asked.

"Mostly trash" I giggled.

He chuckled "Touché, but have you seen her?  I saw her talking to you but then she's now gone," he asked.

"Um, Antonio took her somewhere" I took one more sip of my water.

"Shit" he mumbled, "Where did he take her?" he asked.

"I don't know, they disappeared into the crowd" I shrugged.

"Okay thanks, I'll go see if I can find her, Nice meeting you," he said before leaving.

I'm bored

Shame on you.

It was very true though. What should I do?

I looked around. Everyone was engaged in a conversation until my eyes landed on Luca.

He was typing on his phone.

"Can this guy ever take a break from work?" I muttered walking towards him.

"I drink water at parties, and you do work," I said, taking a playful jab at Luca.

I could tell my comment caught him off guard as he looked up from his phone, a small smile teasing the corner of his lips.

But soon, he returned to his screen. "I guess so," he replied, his attention divided.

"So you have no work when you get home?" I probed further.

Luca sighed, still focused on his phone. "I still have some to do at home."

I shook my head, determined to set things straight. "No, that's not how it works, Mr. Romano."

He glanced back at me, clearly puzzled. "What?"

"Either do work here or at home. Not both," I explained firmly. "This week your sleeping has been quite bad. I let it slide, but you have to get back on track."

Luca's eyebrows furrowed in surprise. "How do you know?"

"I wake up at 2:30 a.m. to open the curtains and check on the kids. I stay up until 3:45 a.m. I always see you leave; you just never see me," I replied with a casual shrug.

"Mammy," a voice interrupted our conversation.

I turned to see Gabriel standing next to Angel. "Yes, anything wrong?"

Gabriel nodded concern in his eyes. "Angel is tired," he explained.

"Okay, you can go. I'll stay here with her," I assured him.

"Promise you won't leave her alone?" Gabriel asked, a hint of worry in his young voice.

"Pinky promise," I said, extending my pinky. He eagerly curled his pinky around mine. "Deal," he said before turning back to rejoin his friends.
