Beating Around The Bush (Teen Titans Robin X Reader)

Chapter 31

A loud explosion busted down a wall that had been in the criminals way. Robin walked over to a device Slade had wanted him to steal. The former hero was about to grab the device when a loud voice came from behind him.

"You're not walking out of here, Robin!" Cyborg called out. Robin turned around to face his team. The four remaining members of the Titans all glared at him. "Not without a fight." With Cyborg's words, Robin charged at them with a battle cry. "Titans, go!" Those two words was all the team needed to jump into action.

The group was ready to fight their friend, but he had different plans. Robin jumped over Cyborg and flew towards the ceiling between Raven and Starfire. Robin easily kicked in a vent and made his escape. Using the ventilation system, Robin made it onto the roof of a building that had a large sign that said "Wayne Enterprise."

A figure only a roof away couldn't help but snicker at how ironic the current situation was. She watched as Robin started to run across the roof making her smirk. "I got my pretty (e/c) eyes on a certain prize." Perci said into the yellow communicator. "Got it! On our way!" Cyborg's voice rang through the device.

A demanding low voice came from Robin's earpieces as he ran across the roof. "Not so fast, Robin. You have yet to achieve your objective." Robin placed his hand on his right ear as he spoke. "The device was too heavily guarded. I'll have to steal it another-" "No! Go back!" Slade's voice made Robin skid to a stop.

"Now this is what I call interesting." Perci said to herself as her smirk widened at the hero's actions. She took a few steps back on the roof she was on before taking a running start towards the building next to her. A soft smile poked through her smirk as she remembered how it felt to be back in business. Her (e/c) eyes widening as she misjudged the distance. Thankfully, she was able to rapidly grow a few vines that attached to the edge of the building. Perci couldn't help but let out a light laugh as she looked down towards the ground. She used the vines to pull herself up onto the roof and remained silent as she waited for the rest of the titans.

"Unless you want me to destroy them, go back and fight." Slade spoke harshly as Robin's fists clenched in anger. "Robin!" Said hero turned to the side to see his teammates once more. "Look-" Cyborg started to say as he approached Robin. "I don't know what's going on, but we don't wanna fight." Cyborg said softly.

A loud scoff came from Perci as she revealed herself on the opposite side of Robin blocking both possible paths. "Speak for yourselves, Titans. I never mind a good fight." Perci said as she crossed her arms over her chest. Robin's eyes widened slightly as he saw Perci standing about five feet away from him. "We just wanna talk." Cyborg said as he got closer to their friend.

Robin answered Cyborg by kicking him hard. The metal man was sent flying back past the rest of the team. "Guess there's nothing to talk about." Beast Boy said as he cracked his knuckles before turning into a green gorilla. Robin easily dodged Beast Boy's attacks as he jumped up onto the large sign.

Perci quickly made vines grow from her hands and pulled herself on top of the large letters Robin was now perching on. "Mind if I join you, wonder boy?" Perci asked teasingly. She stood cockily with her non dominant hand on her hip. Robin watched as her dominant hand was slowly covered by various vines and large thorns.

In Robin's distracted moment, Beast Boy jumped up to attack him. Robin pulled out a new device and threw it towards Beast Boy. Perci immediately noticed the string that wrapped around Beast Boy's wrist. As Robin descended, he went through the small hole in the A taking Beast Boy with him. The sign sparked as Robin landed in front of Starfire.

"Please-" Starfire tried to plead with Robin, but he ran past her to fight Raven. Perci took the time to watch how Robin was fighting. "Fighting hard enough to satisfy, but weak enough to not do any real damage. Good to know." Perci said under her breath as she watched as Cyborg tried to get a good enough angle to shoot Robin.
