LEAH

I sat nervously on the hospital bed, wearing nothing but a thin hospital gown. The room was quiet except for the sound of the machines beeping in the background. I had been waiting for Aaron for what felt like hours, and I was starting to get anxious.

The doctor already took urine and blood samples from me, and now was the wait. I spent the last few days packing up my stuff at my apartment.  Aaron was moving me into his mansion today.

Just as I was starting to lose hope, I heard the sound of the door opening, and Aaron walked in. He looked as handsome as ever, with his perfectly styled hair and tailored suit. But as he approached me, I couldn't help but feel intimidated by his presence.

"Sorry I'm late," he said, flashing me a smile. "Traffic was terrible."

I tried to smile back, but my nerves were getting the best of me. The doctor walked in, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief.

"Okay, Ms. Davis. Your blood work is clean, your vitals are stable, and lastly, you're ovulating, so this is the perfect time to do the insemination.

"Perfect." Aaron said.

The contract I signed stated that Aaron was in charge of all medical decisions for me. It was strange. I felt like a doll.

As the doctor started the procedure, I closed my eyes and tried to relax. I felt a slight discomfort, but it was over quickly. Not to mention, I was almost naked and Aaron right there.

"Okay. All done." She said and smiled. "Now we wait and don't forget to continue to prenatal vitamins. "

The doctor left the room to give us some privacy, and I looked up at Aaron, who was standing by my side.

"So this is it, huh?" Aaron said with his hands in his pocket.

"Yup." I answer nervously. I don't really know what to do.

Aaron got a text on his phone and smirked.

"Work?" I asked.

"Nope. I'm having dinner with someone tonight." He said to me, then grabbed my clothes and handed them to me.

For some reason, I felt disappointed, but I smiled anyway. "Anyone special?" I asked.

"Not really. She's just a friend I see from time to time." He explained.

AARON

I don't know why Leah is asking me questions, but I don't care. She seemed to be confident, but she didn't hide her nerves very well. When she gets up, I bite one side of the bottom of my lip. She didn't realize it, but when she turned around, I could see her black lace panties.

I clear my throat and look away. "I'll be waiting outside to take you home."

"Thanks." She smiled.

I walked out, giving Leah her privacy. I'm really hoping this works. I go to my phone to entertain myself while I wait.

A few minutes later, Leah walks out of the room. She's wearing a fitted casual black dress that fits her perfectly.

"Ready to go?" I asked her, and she nodded.

I walked with her to the car and opened the door for her. She seemed distracted. She smiled at me, and I got into the driver's seat.

"Something on your mind?" I asked firmly.

I try not to be too friendly for Leah. I want to keep this a business relationship only.

"Yes, actually. I wanted to ask you something." She answered me.

I reached over her and grabbed her seat belt to click it, but for a second, I stopped to take in her beautiful green eyes.

"What's your question?" I said to her and got back into my seat.

"Um, if I do get pregnant, I still want to go to school. Is that okay with you?" She tells me as I start driving.

"I'm not asking you to be a housewife. Your job is to make sure you stay safe so my baby is safe. So you're allowed to go to school when it starts up again." I explain.

I admire the fact that Leah still wants to go to school. She's driven. I like that.

When we finally get to the mansion, I get out to open the door for Leah, but she does it herself.

"So I'm going to give you a tour then I have to go." I tell her.

"Sure and don't worry, I'll stay out of your way." She told me as we walked in.

"It's your home too. You can use the pool. Relax yourself. Use the cars and if you need any help Carla will help you." I explain.

Leo came running, and for a second, I thought he was coming to me, but I couldn't be more wrong. He went directly to Leah, and she got on her knees, petting him.

Well, that stings. My dog has fallen in love with my surrogate.

"Hello, handsome boy." She told him.

"Your room is the first door upstairs, and the pool it right through that sliding doors." I explain to her.

I checked my phone again. I'm late.

"Go." She said to me.

"What?"

"I know you have to go. I'll be fine. I have Leo to look after me." She smiled.

Too soon.

"Alright, well, if you need me, call me." I told her.

"No problem." She smiled and got to her feet.

LEAH

Aaron gives me a nod and walks out the door. That's when his maid Carla approaches me.

"Ms Davis, what would you like to eat tonight?" She asked me politely.

It's weird having a maid. I don't need one, to be honest.

"Whatever is fine with me. Do you need any help?" I ask.

"Oh no, miss. I can't let you do that." She told me.

"I don't mind."

"No miss. I insist. How about some lasagna?"

"Um, sure."

It's weird. For once, someone is waiting on me.

I walk up the steps with Leo following behind me. Before I go to my room, I want to explore. This place is fucking huge. I walk down the hallway and come across a pink door.

Weird.

All the other doors are white, but this is the only pink door. I open the door slowly, and I'm blown away. It's so cute. It's a princess room.

Why does he have a princess room?

I know I shouldn't be nosy, but I'm going to be a future lawyer. Snooping is in my DNA. Leo pushed the door open, completely open, and I took a step inside. There's a princess bed and fifty different stuff animals, all different sizes. I then noticed a picture on the dresser. It's Aaron and a little girl. Is she his daughter? I was about to leave the room when Leo nudged my leg, trying to give me the paper in his mouth.

"What is it, boy?" I asked and took the paper.

My heart sank when I read it. It's an obituary. Gabby Reed. Gabby is his sister.

OK, time to go, Leah.
