On the sidelines

"She's wonderful! When I saw her it was like a breath of fresh air!" Hawk exclaimed joyfully.

I wish he would notice me.

"She's the most beautiful person I ever met!!"

Every word is like a dagger stabbing my heart.

Please don't say it.

"I love her!"

I feel my heart breaking.

I've known him since I was little.
why won't he notice me?

There's no one I know like him.

Who's strong, kind, and as caring as he is.

I love him, I always have.

But he fell in love with Rose. A girl he saw for a second.

Why can't he love me?Why must I watch him fall for another and push me aside.

I feel like I'm dying. Why don't you see my pain.

"I want to be with her, forever," he looks so happy, and yet I stand here with a somber smile.

I lost his heart, the worst part is that he was never mine.

As years pass my love does not diminish.

I watch them get married, I watched them and their three kids.

Was it selfish of me to long to be with Hawk? I do not hate Rose, I couldn't. But part of me wishes I was her.

Then maybe I would win his affection.

I will stay by the sidelines, watching their tale of love. My lips sealed as I smile.

Perhaps I'll meet the man of my dreams soon...
