The door opened and Nix looked into the desperate face of a prince of hell. He has come.

Sereph walked towards him with quick steps. "Nix-"

"I know. You don't need to announce it," the oracle interrupted him.

For the past three days, Sereph had done everything possible with Jaden to find Hope. They had gone through every scenario and sent their spies on a quest – all to no avail. They had found no trace of Hope – it was as if he had never existed. Slowly Sereph doubted himself and his sanity.

"Nix, where is Hope?" he asked the oracle.

Nix looked at him and bit his lip. "What do you think?" Nix asked him, hoping Sereph would give him the opportunity to answer.

The hell prince looked at him angrily. "If I knew that, I wouldn't come to you," he said angrily.

"Then tell me what you and Jaden have been thinking about."

Sereph sat down opposite the oracle and took a deep breath. "Hope shone – I think he was reborn. So the probability is greatest that he is currently on Earth and starts a new life. Another possibility is that he ascended into the sky where he was originally supposed to land. If the latter is the case, there is no way for me to reach him."

Nix could feel Sereph's pain, but at least he now had some leeway. "He wasn't destined to go to heaven, he should never have died in the beginning, at least not yet," said the oracle, hoping that the demon understood the hint with the fence post.

"Nix, you killed him back then, didn't you?" he asked the oracle.

He nodded.

"How?"

After Hope was gone, he realized that he knew nothing about his life and past on Earth. Why didn't I ever ask him about it? He was so ashamed that he didn't even know Hope's human last name or where he had lived. It was precisely this ignorance that would now be his undoing because he did not know where to look. He buried his face in his hands. "Nix, I don't know anything about him. I just can't find him."

The grief in the demon's voice cut through Nix' chest. Nix knew exactly what it felt like. Three and a half months ago, Nix had been in Sereph's place, he just couldn't find his heart, Lyric. Therefore, no one understood him better than the oracle that sat before him. And precisely because he was the only one who could help him; who could put an end to this horror. It was so cruel that Nix wasn't allowed to speak. Fate had tied his hands.

"I killed him by pushing him out of a window. He fell three floors down and hit the ground," Nix said, moving close to the abyss. That's all he could say.

"Where?" Sereph asked.

Nix looked down depressed. "I'm not allowed to tell you. Otherwise, he would face a far worse fate," he said in a frustrated voice, banging on the table.

The expression on Nix' face eased the anger in Sereph. Why does he look so tormented? Why can't he help? "Nix, why aren't you allowed to speak?" the prince asked calmly.

Nix looked at him with sad eyes. "I mustn't reveal anything that changes your fate. Only you are allowed to change it. If I do, something unspeakable will happen and you will definitely lose him. I'm so sorry," Nix sobbed and a tear ran down his right cheek.

Now the last bit of anger in Sereph fizzled out. Then I will find him alone. He said goodbye to the oracle and returned home to discuss with Jaden.

Together they sat in the study and Sereph briefly told him what the oracle had said. Nix had told him that Hope wasn't in heaven, so he had to be on earth. In addition, the sentence Nix had said did not let him rest.
