Nothing.

Startled, he opened his eyes and almost woke up his heart. Nothing. I saw absolutely nothing. That's impossible. No one could close themselves off from him, nobody... The memory of his encounter with Aleksander came to his mind.

He hadn't recognized Belial himself. The demon had smiled. The ice-cold wall Belial had built around himself had simply been torn down by this boy. He had to be something extraordinary to create something like that. Sereph had wanted to find out and had followed him. But Belphegor had pre-empted him. He wanted to know how the boy reacted to him.

Belial's mate had surprised him. The boy had stepped upright against him, he even resisted him. I want to understand him. This thought had appeared in his head. But he mustn't be broken. So he intervened before Belphegor broke the boy.

Then he finally had the chance. He touched him to understand why. But then... wait, what then? What had happened? He didn't know, but the boy had fended him off. Sereph paused. I didn't see anything. This realization made him pause. No, he hadn't seen anything. But that wasn't possible. No one could close himself to his gift. What is he?

Reality came ice-cold over him and with it the realization. There were only two reasons he couldn't read Hope. The first was, it was because he was his heart. But he didn't think it was that easy, because they weren't connected yet. The second, however, was that Hope wasn't a normal human. Is Hope an angel?

No, this is not possible. He had neither a seal nor any angel-like attributes that Aleksander had. He was able to rule that out. But what is it then? At the same time, another conjecture arose in the demon. Hope isn't human, but he's not an angel or demon either, then he was something else. But what could this something be? The only ones who could answer this question were Aleksander or Nix. Nix probably wouldn't tell him anything, so only Aleksander remained. But he doubted that Belial would even let him near him. Then I have to ask Astaroth. There was no other way.

His decision was clear. He had to find out if he was right in his guess, or if it was really because Hope was his heart. He rubbed his forehead with two fingers. It can never just go smoothly, can it?

The next morning, Sereph made his way to Astaroth, to whom he had announced himself the day before. He said goodbye to Hope with a kiss, but he wouldn't stay away long.

Hope grinned all morning, Jaden found it was almost scary. It couldn't be overlooked that Sereph had marked the human. You couldn't have made it clearer, could you? Hell, why does he have to exaggerate so much? Hope looked like a walking glowing advertising pillar for the demons, even if he himself seemed to know nothing about it. But he and Sereph hadn't yet tied the knot. It can't take much longer. Jaden sighed. It was time for them to finally do it.

After class, Hope often went to the garden and spent time there. With him going today as well, Jaden thought nothing of it. And why should he?

Sereph walked with graceful steps out of the portal into Astaroth's entrance hall and was greeted by the bare walls. How ugly. For a lover of art, the minimalism that Astaroth lived was just awful. He pursed his lips and made his way to Astaroth's study. None of the servants dared to stand in his way.

When he entered, the prince of hell was already sitting in his seat drinking tea. On the table opposite him was another cup, which seemed to be meant for him.

"Thank you for the hospitality and for receiving me so quickly," Sereph greeted Astaroth and adhered to the formal rules of greeting. He waited for Astaroth to offer him the place, before which he would not sit down. With a wave of his hand, he did so.
