Thy Loving Heart

I see her every night, whenever I fall
into the deep dark canyons of slumber.
To see her again I would swim or crawl
through every trench or body of water.

I gaze upon her picture and my soul yearns
to stroke her hair, to kiss her sweet cheek.
For in thy heart, a strong flame still burns
as without her love I feel so frail and weak.

We're victims of circumstance and bad timing
as things never seem to turn out as we desire.
Stung by those we loved, left hurt and crying
I long to rescue you, pull you out from the fire.

I was infatuated with you from the very start
you'll always have a place in thy loving heart.
