Morgan's POV:
I sat there in sheer disappointment.
Was I that bad of a man?
Is that why she did not want me?
Two days later, I opened my mailbox.
"Let me see, I have bills, a statement from the credit union, coupons, a postcard from my parents, a sales catalog from the local Target store, and a letter."
"A letter, yes, finally."
I ripped open the envelope as soon as I got inside.
It was in her handwriting. So Lucy did send me some mail after all.
I read it and re-read it. I held it close to my heart.
"There will never be another girl for me. Not in a million years, Lucy."
"Not when my heart belongs with you."
I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
Oh no, why now?
How could I when she had finally given me hope?
I tried to reach the phone, but it was of no use.
"Sorry, Lucy."
I blackened out.
