     Morgan's  POV:

I  wake up to see Frank and Nicole.

Hmm, talk about it being awkward.

I wish I could curl up in a hole and die.

I could tell Lucy blamed me.

It was my fault she was miserable while Nicole was happy as a lark.

 I suppose I deserved it.

Why did I introduce Frank to Nicole anyway?

How was I supposed to know he would leave Lucy for her?

It wasn't like Frank wore a tag that said, Warning, I am an insecure jerk who might dump my girl if a better offer comes along.

I  honestly thought I was doing Lucy a favor.

She was away at school while Frank was in town.

How was I supposed to know Frank was a heartless swine?

Yet, here we were years later.

I chickened out when it came to say a word to them.

  Instead, I climbed the tree.

Oops, Lucy glared at me like I invaded her territory again.

Then, I heard cheers on the ground below.

   I chose to ignore them.

"Lucy, I did not know you were up here."

    "Save it, Morgan," she hissed.

I could tell she was not happy.

"Honestly, I did not know. I was trying to avoid the stares from Frank."

"Frank, as in my ex-Frank, is here?"

        "Yes, that is the one."

           "Well, feel free to stay."

I sat there with my mouth open. "Better close it before you catch some flies."

Lucy laughs, and I do the same.

             "Are you mocking me?"

            "No, Lucy."

"Good, because if you were, then should have to strangle you, Morgan Bryant."

"Lucy, do you truly hate me so?"

"Hate is such a strong word, do not you think so?"

"Fine,  perhaps, you only despise me then?"

I see her roll her eyes. Then, to my amazement, she smiles.

I stare at her in confusion. Why does she make me happy when she clearly can not stand me?

For years, we have not spoken, and today we are at each other as if we were lovers in a feud or something. Goodness, that girl might be the death of me someday.

Lucy smirks. She kisses my cheek.

                      I blush.

                      I am in trouble.

                    Yep, I am in deep.

the story continues in Chapter 7

               Until then,

            bye-bye, little owlets!
