Chapter 9

      Lucy's  POV:

It might have been coincidental that he was in the same tree as me.

I do not believe in coincidences.

"Morgan, you can go now. Frank and Nicole went that way."

"Lucy, you can not expect me to leave that fast. I mean, you did kiss me."

I would stick my tongue out at him. Only he is right.

         "Fine, you may stay."

I see his eyes light up.

      What is with him?

   Oh, boy, the kiss.

Why did he have to bring it up?

I felt awkward enough about it as it is.

I never did kiss anyone else, not even Frank.

"Morgan, I admit you are a bit attractive."

"Oh, I am, am I now?"

"Yes, but only cause you are not as stuck up as I thought you were."

        I hear his laughter.

It is good to know he does not laugh for anyone else.

Wow,  I sound like I am staking a claim on him.

I gasp. My thoughts might turn to actions that could give me away.

      "Lucy?"

     "What is it, Morgan?"

"The branch is about to break."

I  hear the crack of something below me.

      "Ah!"

    "Lucy hold still."

Morgan climbed out of the tree. He made it to the ground just in time.

The branch came to lose the rest of the way and I was headed straight toward him.

     "Ah! Help!"

I felt strong arms catch me.

     "Morgan?"

    "Yes, it is me, love."

    I stare into his eyes.

I see him glance back into mine.

  I feel mesmerized by him.

It is like I am drawn to him or something.

I   cannot seem to look away, nor do I want to.

I feel him cup my chin in his hand.

   I do not pull away.

   "M-Morgan, d-do not l-leave me."

I am shocked.  Why do I feel so comfortable in his arms?

"Shh, my love, and let me kiss you."

"M-Morgan, I-I c-can't we are in public. People will see us."

"So, let them. " I hear him mutter against my lips.

   I nod my head.

I feel his lips press into mine sealing the gap between us.

I  cannot believe it is real.

I   kiss him.

I hear him moan.

I  slide out of his arms onto the ground.

"Ouch, you did that on purpose!"

"Did what on purpose, Lucy?"

"You dropped me."

"Sorry, it was an accident, I swear."

"Okay, I believe you."

I smirk at him.

I see him smile back.

I start to run.

I feel him pull me close.

"M-Morgan, I-I..."

"I know, love."

I feel his lips reconnect with mine.

 I start to blush.

I return the kiss slowly this time.

I pull away with tears in my eyes.

I do not deserve him.

Not after how badly I have treated him over the years.

"Lucy, love, do not cry. Shh, it is alright."

"Morgan, I have been horrible to you."

   "It is okay. "

  "No, it is not."

Morgan and I went on for a few minutes arguing back and forth.

"Ha, you sound like an old married couple,"  Nicole remarks.

I did not correct her. I felt as if maybe just maybe things between Morgan and I would be different from here on out.

The story continues in Chapter 10
