Ep 18

Kate's eyes widens and she runs to him but............ He vanishes into thin air.

Then Kate turns around after hearing a voice,

"I cleaned the whole room. Can I atleast get a glass of water served by my bestie~?"

"Mark!"
Kate looks at Mark as she fades away again.

Is she hallucinating Mark? Why would she? He only has work to do and she already knew that one day, Mark will have to go back to his homeland then why this feeling...? Why this feeling of emptiness?

Kate goes back into her room.

She sees her reflection in the mirror ...

"Will you really let him go?"
Her reflection says.

Kate approaches the mirror.
"There's no reason for me to hold him back."

The reflection chuckles,
"You fool...... Do you really think you can let him go?"

Kate clenches her fists.... Unable to answer.

"I'm going to ask you one last question."
The reflection looks straight into Kate's eyes.
"Are you sure you won't regret letting him go?"

Kate's jaws drop.
She feels like she wants to run to Mark and stop but her legs won't move.

Kate stays silent as she watches her reflection fade away with a wicked smile.

[Back to the day when Kate and Mark was drinking, after the meeting Kate had]

"I want to say something Kate!"
Mark exclaims as he he sips on his drink.

Kate urges hum to speak up.
Getting the chance, Mark says,
"Well... Uh.... I- ..... I-...."

Kate looks at Mark, her eyebrows curled up in a frown.
"I had the meeting and here you are struggling to speak. C'mon!"

Mark rubs his hand and finally says,
"I think I'm in love."

Mark closes his eyes as he says his words.

"You. Are. In. Love! Well, that's a usual thing. Who's it?"
Kate continues sipping her drink, not shocked by the words of Mark.

"Well! It's a little complicated but I really love her and I know, the feeling is unbearable."

"How does she look?"

"She has blonde hair..."

Kate looks at her hair,
"Like me!"
Kate taunts Mark, unknown to the truth.

Mark goes on talking,
"Her eyes are blue, like the sea!"

Kate remembers that her eyes are blue.
"Maybe she's my doppelganger"
Kate again taunts Mark, who doesn't even pay attention to her words .....

"She works at a design studio...."

Kate gets suspicious.

"She has a mile on her lips..."

"Wait"
Kate stops Mark.
"If you are thinking of playing with me, don't! It's not funny at all."

"But I really love you!"
Mark exclaims.

"I guess you are seeing Caroline in me again, now that you are drunk, that's why.
Kate tries to convince Mark.

"I'm not..... Drunk"
Mark says.

"Yeah! For the first time I forced myself on you, I saw Caroline but you remember when I had a fever? The time when I back-hugged you? I hugged you as Kate, not as Caroline."

An awkward silence prevails between them. What a crazy situation.

"Will you accept me as your boyfriend?"
Mark breaks the silence.

The words pierce through her mind.

No, she can't give into him. He's just her friend and she always loved him as a friend.

Kate gets up from her seat,
"I'll pay for our drinks. Finish yours up, I'm calling a car."

She finally realises, she needs to go to the airport.

She puts on a jacket and leaves for the airport.
