[The next day]

Kate takes a day off her office. She is nothing less than exhausted. All sort of things are hunting her down at once.

After spending the whole day almost laying around her house, she wore something light and got out of the house and headed towards the nearest pub.

"A drink for me"
She takes her drink and sits on the seat.

She sees a guy dozing off, a little away from her seat.

Isn't that Mark?

Mark is a really good friend of Kate. He has been friends with her since high school. His father is a CEO of a big fashion designing company in Thailand.

He was known as "The Heartthrob" in high school and many mistook Kate as his girlfriend, but in fact, they never had any romantic relationship. According to Kate, Mark was that type of guy, whom she would never miss as a friend and would never try as a boyfriend.

Everytime Kate tried to get Mark on the right track, he blew those off saying

"Life is all about enjoyment. Chill girl!"

Every week, he had a new girlfriend but he never messed with any girl, neither did he had any bad records. It's just that his nature was that kind of like that.

Kate shared everything with him and the same other way.
Mark even supported Kate and Stephen.

"Hey Mark! Long time no see"
Kate cheers Mark up.

Mark looks at Kate, scrunching his eyebrows till mouth to focus on her, while dozing off.

"Oh Kate!"
He replies.

"Good to hear that you know my name!"
Kate says.

Mark smiles soullessly.

"Not good"
Mark pouts his face.

"What's wrong?"
Kate asks.

Mark takes a deep breath before starting to demonstrate his life.

"I finally realised that dumping someone hurts.... And that pain is unbearable."

"I told the exact same line years ago and now you come, after realising?"

Kate order two drinks and both take their seats.

"Caroline. Man, I really loved her so much. But she dumped me for another guy and in my whole life, this was the first time that I got dumped. Since the first, I was serious about this relationship, but Caroline came out to be a bigger playgirl."

"You deserved that after dumping so many innocent for you so-called fun."
Kate taunts Mark.

Mark looks down.

Kate felt as if he was about to break into tears.

She pats him slowly.
"People come and they go. What matters is how you adapt yourself with the changes. I'm sad for your situation but I would also say, it was for your good. Now that you know how bad it feels, you won't do the same again. Afterall, you are my friend.
Even if the world leaves you, remember
You will always have someone by your side, and that person will be me."

Mark looks at Kate and breaks into tears.

Kate hugs Mark to console him.

"Now stop crying like a baby. Everything will gradually get better.
