"Wanna skip classes today?"
Kate looked at Elena with glowing eyes.
"It's science class, no way! Mr. Long is gonna kill us if he finds."
Elena said while locking her locker.
Kate sighed.
"These studies. I wish I would grow up and get free of these boundaries.
"When we'll grow up we will have more difficulties. Those will be harder and we won't be able to skip them."
Kate leans on the the locker and crosses her arms,
"Like?"
Elena turns at her and smiles softly.
"Like.... Looking for jobs, feeding your family, listening to criticism, dealing with depression, monthly bill payments and much more.
What's worse is, you can skip classes for a day, but you won't be able to skip reality, cause there is no way out "
Kate scrunches her nose.
"I often wonder whether we are the same age or not. You are right in front of me, talking about things so well and I just.....think of skipping classes."
"Cause you are you and I am Me."
Elena smiles.
"Let's promise, even when we grow up, no matter what happens, we will still be best friends as we are now."
Elena locks her pinkie with Kate's.
"Promise."
The bell rings and they head back to their classes.
