Chapter 5: No More Cave

Eep sulked as he trudged back to the cave, Grug right behind him. Eep angrily kicked a rock and it bounced off another rock and almost hit Grug.

"Hey!"

Ugga and the rest of the family came out of the cave and saw Eep.

"Eep!" Ugga gasped.

"Mom."

Eep ran forward and Ugga hugged her son.

"Grug! What happened?" Ugga asked, as she looked over Eep's face.

"You know what, I am so mad right now, I can't even talk to him."

"You will never believe it. I found something new." Eep announced.

"New?!"

The family all picked up rocks and crowded around Eep to protect him.

"New is a big problem!" Grug said.

"Wait, wait!" Eep protested, trying to get out of the circle.

"Eep, stay inside the family kill circle." Ugga told him.

"It wasn't bad!"

"New is always bad." Grug corrected him.

"No, she was nice." Eep said.

Grug furrowed his eyebrows at that. "What? Excuse me? She?"

"Well, I thought she was an animal at first, but then she changed into a girl. A...really...pretty...girl..." Eep sighed, with a dreamy look.

"Strange. Usually it's the reverse." Gran commented.

"Eep's got a girlfriend, Eep's got a girlfriend." Thunk chanted.

Eep elbowed him in the head. "There was a girl! She had a brother too. But he wasn't as pretty. Watch, I'm gonna call her."

Eep pulled out his shell and raised it in the air and his family jumped back. He put the shell to his lips and began blowing in it, making a horn sound.

The family yelled and smacked the shell out of his hands and smashed it into tiny pieces.

Eep knelt on the floor and picked up some of the broken pieces.

"What is wrong with you?!" He snapped at his family.

"It was dangerous." Grug said.

"It was beautiful!" Eep argued. "You wanna see dangerous? Here!"

Eep threw a piece of the shell and hit Thunk in the face.

"Ow! My sniffer!"

"Okay, Eep, that's it! We're going back to the cave and you're going to stay in there until you're older than...her!" Grug gestured to Gran.

"What?! You can't keep me inside forever!" He yelled.

Eep's picked up a rock and threw it and started grunting in anger. He paused when he felt the ground start to rumble.
