I really like this poem, and I hope you do too!

Breathe - written 1/31/13
I tossed and turned along the wind
A wave of whispers carrying me
Make a wish upon a star,
The only one I've seen so far.
Mother, Father, please come quick
There's a star outside my window
I close my eyes and make a wish,
Drifting off to sleep
Only to be awakened by a
Warm, soft lick.
The smallest things in life make the
Biggest difference,
A smile here, a hug there
Or an anxious wagging tail.
A world to dive into,
With a rhythm of movement
Known deep in your heart but
So new to the mind.
Taking it all day by day,
I'm just doing my best under the circumstances.
I flew along with the water
A memory to those I had left behind
Mother, Father, please come quick
I need you by my side
Taking it day by day,
Old to the heart but
New to the mind
There's a star outside my window,
The only one I've seen so far
Close my eyes and make a wish
Only to be awaken by a warm, soft tune.
