3rd Person POV
she had snuck out and gone to the stables. she tacked up bullet and sighed under her breathe. she ran her hand over his mane and nodded
"it's just us now, we have to fix us and each other. i need you bullet" she said and she led him out of the stables and to the beach. she rode him along the coastline as she let him lead her where he needed to. she just needed to keep him with her and she felt a tug between their relationship, Meredith was going to the stables that day and iris had to show that she had the connection with bullet and zoe had the connection with raven like they said they did. she led him over to the log as she tied him up and made sure he was stable and secure.
"I know that this might be hard for you and we need to fix this. I'm sorry bullet, I don't know how to fix this" she stated and he huffed as she sighed and heard her phone ring but she ignored it.
"its me and you today. meredith is coming today and we need to show her that we can do this" she told him and she grabbed a stick as she ran it over the sand and drew a box. she then looked up at bullet.
"this is us. this is our world and we stay in this box. we stay here. this is the arena and we stay here" she stated and she untied him as she led him over into the arena as she got on him and she rode him around it. she made sure that he followed what she wanted him to do and she felt him pull against her
"come on bullet, work with me here" she exclaimed and bullet huffed as she did too and then he followed what she did again. her phone rang again and she picked it up as she read it over and saw that it was from Marcus.
'i think we should talk' she read off and she scoffed as she put her phone back in her pocket and she shook her head.
"no way , no chance" she said to herself and she let bullet scuff up the make up arena as she sighed and pet his mane.
"god I just wish we could leave" she said and then her phone rang again and she pulled it out of her pocket again and she answered it
"what?" she asked in aspiration
"where are you?" zoe asked and iris sighed
"don't worry about me z. I'm fine" she said and she felt the way zoe sighed
"why didn't you tell me where you were going?" zoe questioned and iris leaned her head down on bullets neck and sighed
"I couldn't , I need some time with bullet right now zoe. I'm fine I promise" she stated and she heard zoes hair scratch the phone.
"be safe iris" she said and iris nodded
"I'll be alright" she retorted and she ended the call as she muted it and turned it off. she turned back to bullet and sighed as she pet his neck
"lets get out of here" she exclaimed and she pulled his reins as he began to gallop against the sand again. Iris let him lead her back to the stables and when they got there, they saw everyone in the yard including Meredith and holloway. she pulled bullet to a stop and sighed
"this is it, we have to do this. i cant lose you and zoe cant lose raven. me and you right now in this moment all we need is each other and we know that" she stated and she ran her hand over his mane one last time and then she pat his side as he neighed and she nodded
"we can do this" she told him and she rode him in and she heard mia
"and there is iris Phillips now" mia said and they all turned to her as she smiled and then she watched callum ride for holloway. james walked over to her and he started at her
"you needed all the attention? i have a lot riding on today and if you mess this up" he began and she cut him off
"you have a lot? me and zoe could lose our horses james. so tell me is this one of our pep talks or no?" she asked as she looked around and saw everyone staring at them.
"you think you're going to impress Meredith with your connection?" he asked and iris laughed
"yeah I do actually" she said and james stepped away as iris nodded and handed bullet one of the sweets as they rode around the course and did it the way they remembered and perfectly at that. they heard everyone cheering and iris smiled as they got to the end and iris hugged bullet
"good boy bullet" she said and she pulled him to a stop before she got off of him and led bullet out of the yard. she brought him back to his stall and she removed his saddle and anything on him as she ran her hand over his mane and smiled.
"you did good today" she spoke and he huffed as she sat down on the ground and meredith looked at them as bullet sat down next to her and leaned his head in her lap as she ran her hand over his head again
"you two truly do have a connection" meredith said and iris nodded
"thank you" iris said and meredith nodded as she walked away from her and iris sighed. she looked up and she saw Marcus looking at her
"hi" she whispered and he spoke up
"I think we should break up," Marcus said and iris looked at the ground
"I agree, I'm sorry Marcus" she spoke and he sighed as he leaned down and kissed her forehead one last time.
"its alright iris. I'm sorry too" he said and he left the stall. she looked down at bullet and sighed
"I'm so tired" she said and she closed her eyes as she let the tiredness take her over and she fell asleep right there with bullet.
she just didn't know what was going to happen to the stables and she didn't know that she would be stuck there.
