So Called Friends (Yamaguchi X Reader)

Chapter 23

         Once you guys got to where you were going you saw (bsf/n). Yamaguchi let go of your hand and you ran up next to her

"I gotta go"

Yamaguchi said waving goodbye

"Ok, good luck"

You say, you and (bsf/n) waving back, the match was starting and you were excited to see the boys in action once again. The game was good, both teams were neck and neck. You were on the edge of your seat waiting to see who took victory. Yamaguchi was up next and you cheered him on, he looked up and smiled at you before turning his attention back to the court doing his secret float serve. He had finally nailed it, it went perfectly gaining the team a point you cheered even louder. A few hours had went on and Karasano was in it for the win. You jumped up and down next to (bsf/n) excited for the boys team, once the match was over you guys ran down congratulating them. Everyone was so happy, this was such a big leap for the team. They were getting closer and closer to the finals, the team cheered. Just then you were pulled into a group hug, some of the boys crying happy tears. It was so unreal for them and it made you happy to be there and experience this with them, you smiled hugging the group back.

"Ok! Whos ready to celebrate!?"

Everyone turns around to see a tired but very happy coach Ukai

"It was a long and intense game but we won! Who's ready to eat some meat buns, on the house!"

He yelled, this made the team cheer again and everyone got ready to leave. You walked out of the gym next to (bsf/n) talking as the team went to the back to change out of their sports clothes. As you talked to your friend she mentions how she wants to confess to Tsuki

"This could be a good chance to tell him right?"

She asks nervously blushing as she fiddles with her fingers

"Maybe"

You smile at her putting a hand on her shoulder

"I think you got a shot"

You comfort her trying to boost her confidence. You guys walk to a more private area so you didn't get lost in the sea of people

"What exactly should I say to him?"

She asks again worried she might mess things up

"Maybe that you've liked him for a while and that your ok if things don't turn out as expected"

You say again making sure to let her know that if he does say no it's not the end of the world

"Yeah, that could work..."

*Boys POV*

The boys talk to one another as they change and get their sports bags together. Tsuki feeling overwhelmed with happiness and confidence, he turns to Yamaguchi asking if it were to be ok if he asked (y/n) out. This caught him off guard, he turns to the side and mumbles

"S-sure I guess..."

Tsuki takes notice and starts to ask another question

"What's wrong? I assumed you didn't like her that way. At least that's what you said back in the class room"

He continues to look down at Yamaguchi who blushes

"I-i do like her as a friend"

He lowers his voice for the last part really not wanting to say it

"B-but you can ask her if you want too"

He turns again looking at the floor as he continued to get dressed. Yamaguchi did like you as a friend... But maybe it took now to realize he liked you more than that. He was shocked to hear Tsuki's words but what if you liked Tsuki more than him? He's seen how you guys act around each other. He most likely didn't have a chance with you, you were so caring and sweet. You always knew what to say to him and made him feel like he was special... He didn't want to lose you, but he also didn't want to argue over a girl with his best friend

"It's settled, I'll ask her out later tonight"

He says, the rest of the team walking out of the room along with Tsuki

"Well... Come on"

He turned around waving Yamaguchi towards him. Yamaguchi shook his head and followed behind

"C-coming"
