"Hi" I said sitting down at the table my dad was at

"Rain. Do I not get a hug?" I shook my head nervously swirling the straw around my soda

"What do you want dad?"

"do you wanna know what I want? because of you, my name has been dragged through the mud again did you not think once before you did something"

"I didn't choose for it to be like this. I didn't choose to become a firefighter. You pushed me into it. otherwise I would've put an end to it. and you do not get to play the victim here, when you were the one that actually did something wrong. I haven't done anything and I'm getting bad end of the stick here"

"look at you again rain, making yourself the victim"

"my house has just been burned down. mums stuff that was in there is gone, years worth of my money I've saved for. Is gone. you don't get to have a say in what I can and cannot think. I didn't ask to be born and to be put in the care of my abusive father, yet here I am. if we could go back in time believe me I would pray for mum to choose to get that abortion that my grandma was begging her to get"

"come on I wasn't that bad"

"You wasn't that bad?" I laughed
"Is that a joke? You were the biggest prick. you locked me in my room for days or weeks with just a few bottles of water. And when you was actually home you would make me train for hours and hours on end! you beat me to a pulp whenever something didn't go your way and when everyone was coming at you for being the shitty firefighter you was, you took it out of me and beat me more!" The room around us was quiet but I didn't take any notice

"Don't ever fucking talk to me like that rain! I raised you!" He stood up out of his seat squaring me up but I'd had enough so I stood up as well

I had been living under his rules I'm following them for years and years and I'd had enough

"That's the worst part you abusive prick!" He reached his hand out, punching me across the face and my body went backwards, hitting the corner of the table

My eyes I went blurry after and all I looked to see was Kelly coming over and punching my dad knocking him to the floor. he blew punches after punches until Antonio and another one of the CPD officers took him off.

Brett and Gabby rushed over to me and helped me off the floor and another one of the officers held my dad up and kicked him out

"Rain?" Gabby asked me. I looked to her as tears came to my eyes and then back to the floor in shame

"Hey don't cry. That man got what he deserved. Come" they both lead me into the back of Molly's and away from everyone else

"Is she in here?" I heard Kelly's voice and he was in front of me moments later
"Hey, are you okay?" He put his hands on my face and inspected my cheekbone where I was hit

"I'm fine" I whispered. He looked at the tears falling down my face and wiped them away before kissing me

"You don't mind if I take her to my place do you?" He asked the girls

"No it's fine" he nodded and I hugged them both before taking his hand. We both walked out of Molly's and got into his car

"Your bleeding" I said inspecting his knuckles

"Only a bit. It's the least of what that dickhead deserves. Everything you said..? Is it true..?" I nodded and he sighed angrily so I just ran my fingertips up and down his arm

"Come let's get out"

Once we had both showered we got into bed and cuddled next to each other

"That's gonna bruise" he said motioning to my already bruising cheekbone

"I know. Thank you, for being there"

"I will always be here rain. Whenever you need, whenever you want. Im here" he turned over so he was holding himself up by his elbows and I leant know, kissing him slowly
