Severides POV

We had just came down the ladder from the top floor as we waited around for rain to come out of the building

"Jacob's, report!" Chief said through the radio
"Jacob's report!"

"Where is she?" I asked Hermann

"She was getting a kid, she said she was right behind me" I looked to the door not seeing her there and then the upper floors exploded and erupted into flames

Our relationship had just started. I wasn't ready for it to end yet

We all looked helplessly at the building before we saw her walk out

I let out the largest sigh of relief before rushing over. She passed the child to Hermann, took her mask off and I pulled her into a hug

"Fucking hell rain you scared me" she let out a breathy laugh and pulled away

"I scared myself" she turned around and walked with me back to the truck but someone moved in front of us

"what took you so long?" I asked her

"The boy was too scared to come out of his hiding spot and I couldn't reach him so I had to wait for him to come, I did send it through the radio though and I thought I had time because I didn't get an answer"

"The connection must've went. chief was trying to get through to you but you wasn't answering on our end" she turned around and walked with me back to the truck but someone moved in front of us

Rains POV

"Jacob's? Is that save you did just a once off?" The reported blocking our way said. I ignored him turning away but he moved in front of me again
"What? Are you a pussy like you dad?" I moved away again but he was just being persistent

"Hey. Leave her alone" Severide said

"Don't be a pussy Jacob's" he was standing in front of me but Severide moved his arm between us and backed him away and that time he went off

"You alright?" Kelly asked me and I looked around to see everyone else looking between the reporter and me. I nodded going back to the truck

Once we got back to the firehouse I went straight to the kitchen where I drank some water to calm down

"Uh rain. You might want to take a look at this" I looked to see everyone with their eyes glued to the tv. I moved forward looking at the presenters

"It seems the dirty firefighter Robert Jacob's, has a daughter that has joined the firefighting career. It's been rumoured around for a few weeks now but has been confirmed today.

She made an amazing save today of a 4 year old child that the mothers highly thankful for but everyone's thinking: is this all just an act? Is she a monster like her father? There's loads of questions like this. There's been a high amount of haters for this girl that hasn't actually done anything wrong at this moment yet people have yet to stop assuming. there's also been a few clips of people coming to her house early hours in the morning to try and get some information" the news presenter screen changed to a video and it was of me leaving my house for work
