I walked outside on my way to my locker when I got pulled
"Oh my gosh, Kelly, you scared me" he laughed kissing my cheek and I giggled moving my neck away
"So I was thinking. You, me. Picnic? We can grab some food. Sit in the park"
"Really?" I asked trying to hide the large smile off my face that doesn't leave whenever I'm with this man
"Yeah, totally"
"Okay"
"Tomorrow?"
"Sure"

Truck 81, squad 3, ambulance 61, structure fire. 1800 block

We pulled up and got out of the trucks already seeing smoke everywhere
"there's two men missing. one in a real bad shape" someone told us
"And the other one?"
"Distillery operator. He never came out"
"Brett, Jimmy. You're triage. Engine, let a hose line out. Truck, squad. Search and rescue. There are 2 missing."
"Sev, take the west side. We'll take the east"
"81, silver bullets. Jacob bring the sked"
"Copy that" I grabbed the sked and put the masks on going into the building
"fire department call out!" We rushed up the stairs seeing fire everywhere
"fire department callout!" We kneeled down scanning everywhere
"Got anything?"
"Nothing so far" I turn the corner and saw a guy at the other end of the hallway
"he's down here!" I shouted and we went over to him and checked his neck
"I got a pulse but he's bleeding out fast"
"Let's get him out of here" we got the Sked and put it under him before picking him up and a few went and took him out
We carried on looking for the other guy
"Hey you!" Otis shouted and we went over to the other guy pushing something off him
"He's deaf from the blast" I said to him as the guy had blood dripping from his ears
"Hey chief we found our second victim! His arms caught in a machine! We're going to need a small airbag!" Otis said through the radio
Chief: "Message received. Severide?"
"Otis, we'll be there in 2 minutes! Set off your PASS device so we can find you!"
"Oh hey rain, I found the switch!" I looked to Otis seeing him reach for the switch
"Don't!" I shouted and I ran up, jumping on him and pulling him to the ground
"What was that?"
"Some machines, they finish their cycle when you cut the power! That would tear his arm off before we got him free" once Severide, Capp and Cruz got to us the place was already ready to explode
"This place is gonna blow!"
"Nobody touch the power switch, this could be a full cycle machine" we put airbags underneath the wood
"Airbags ready to go!"
"Raise it up! Nice and slow" the air got pumped in lifting it up and we pulled the guy out
