The shadows casted over your view, as you watched the young man open the door.

You knew his intentions from the beginning. He was to paranoid to function, he thought he needed to escape.

So he did.

He held his laptop to his chest, and checked both ways. Making sure no one saw him.

You did of course, but he didn't know that.

After checking he crept out of his room, closing the door gently behind him. He held his breath, and placed his keys in his hooded pocket.

'He's out on the break.' You told the entity.

'Perfect make sure he gets to library with no harm. He should know what happens when he doesn't listen.' They sang in your head.

'Alright.'

He slowly made his way down the dim lighted hallway. He tried his best not to wake up anyone, he successfully did that.

You made sure there was distance between you two. He placed his hand on the rail of the staircase, was the metal always this cold?

He stopped for a second taking deep breaths.

"Calm down Alex, they won't get you there. I should've listen to that kid..." Alex muttered to himself.

Usually you felt bad, but you felt empty. Why did you feel empty?

Alexes steps echoes as each step he took. He glided his hand against the cold metal.

You both reached the first floor, but it only felt like a minute?

Was time once again mocking you?

Alex opened his laptop, and started typing a few things. Then started walking towards the end.

Your steps felt slow, but your heart beated faster.

Your breath hitched as you reached the library.

Your thoughts felt so loud. It's like you said them out loud, but you know you didn't.
