Broken Promises

Chapter 26

Irene has already arrived in Imee's house, she then freshen up and change her clothes. While putting some light make-up her phone suddenly rings.

Phone ringing...

An unregistered number is calling her.

"Hello?" Irene answers as soon as she  answer the phone call, wondering who could be calling her.

"Um h-hello.." A voice from the other line she heard, a nervous voice from a lady she's familiar with.

"Who's this and how did you get my number, miss?" Irene asked, she wants to hear who's the one she's talking to since she's not sure who.

"K-kate, this is Kate.." Answers by Kate which made Irene startled, Irene wasn't able to respond because of what she has heard.

"Anak! H-hello, do y-you need something?" Irene asked, still surprise by her daughter's sudden phone call.

"Um, I was just wondering if you could do me a favor?" Kate asked nicely, her mama Imee is staring which is making her pressured.

"Of course, sure! What is it?" Irene replied joyously, she's feeling it, a feeling that she's now getting close, almost.

"Clothes po sana, can you bring me a pair here sa hospital? Dito nalang po kasi ako maliligo.." Kate replies, Irene as a not so maarte mommy raise her brows after hearing those, questions were running through her mind like are their water safe for Kate?

"Hello? Still there, po?" Kate added since she didn't hear any response from her mother.

"Y-yes, a-are you sure that you're going to take a bath there? You might get itchy, you know what wait for me there, I saw a hotel near lang. Dun ka nalang maligo, 'kay?" Irene suggested, she knows how sensitive Kate's skin.

"I'm sure that the water here is clean po, si mama Imee dito din maliligo and they're not a private hospital for no reason." Kate justified, Irene sighs, she don't want to fight with her baka saan pa umabot.

"Okay then, if you say so. What else do you want me to bring for you?" Irene asked, Kate thinks for awhile.

"Nothing else, thanks!" Kate exclaim, Irene smile as she heard her replied joyfully.

"You're much more welcome." Irene signified, the both of them bid goodbye and ends the call. Irene was smiling while heading to Kate's room, her heart is full and it makes her giggles whenever she recalls their talk earlier. No shouting, just calm and comfortable.

After Irene picks clothes for Kate, she immediately went downstairs to put it on the bag where the other necessities are.

"Mommy, can I go with you? Gusto ko po sanang bisitahin si tita Imee." Janella asked as soon as she saw Irene on the stairs.

"U-um y-yeah sure, hindi naman pupunta ngayon yung mga kuya mo, may kasama si ate Xandra mo." Irene replied hesitantly, Janella smiled and told her that she'll just change.

Janella didn't take awhile to change, she quickly went back downstairs so they could go to the hospital already. Irene decided to bring a coffee for everyone who are currently in the hospital, she also bought dunkin donuts specifically Kate's favorite.

When they arrived, they went to Imee's room directly. They were all fell silent when they saw them entering, this is the first time that Bongbong will meet his illegitimate niece.

"Good afternoon po." Janella greeted, respectfully. Kate and Imee raised their brows when she heard her uttered those words, what a trying hard to be nice lady, Kate thinks.
