Rhydian's POV:

I felt the tingling rush through my body. I couldn't stop it this time. I had to leave and fast. I stared as my friends,

'I'm so sorry,' I yelled as I sprinted for the forest, barely making it , I transformed.

I love the feeling of becoming a wolf. It's like coming home from a holiday. But, this time something was different, I felt as if I was trapped in a wolf's body with the emotions of a human, not happy, alone, again. I picked up the pace, my paws grasping the grass with every step. I ran to my favourite spot on the moors- an oak tree engraved with mine and Maddy's initials from the very first time we ever met, when she showed me the life of a wolfblood, the first time she held my hand, the first time someone had confidence in me.

I de-transformed and grabbed my knees and pulled them close to my chest. My head resting on the tree. My body felt dead, empty, and motionless. I had never felt so alone in my life.I threw a small, silvery stone  as far as I could in anger, hitting a small squirrel.

I heard something move behind me, I didn't bother turning around, I knew it was probably just Shannon or Jana. They probably wanted to know 'how I was doing'.

'A little cold to be sitting alone, without a jacket don't you think?' I turned around to see Dr Whitewood.

'What do you want?' I questioned with a stern tone.

'To apologize... look I'm sorry, for everything, I shouldn't have done what I did, I should have just left you guys alone-' she began.

'Why are you really here?' I cut her off.

'Oh, well it's about Maddy,' her face sinking into a devilish smile.

Tom's POV:

We began trekking up the moors. Shannon yapping on about how Rhydian shouldn't have screamed at us and how close he was to wolfing out in front of the whole village.

'Shan,' she continued to talk, ignoring me.

'Shannon.' I tried again with an angrier pitch.

'SHANNON KELLY!' I snapped.

Her face shocked as she froze up.

'Stop dissing him, the day you become a wolf is the day you can criticize Rhydian.' I glared at her.

'whatever,' she murmured.

In the distance, we saw what looked like 2 people talking one in a white jacket, the other in a grey shirt. We sped up. As we reached closer, the once was white blur became a crystal clear image of Dr Whitewood and Rhydian.

'What on earth is going on!?' Jana yelled out, breaking the silence.

Rhydian's head turned to see us, his yellow eyes rolled as he snared at Whitewood. We all edged closer.

'Why are you here?' I called out.

'I came to apologize- and bring you some news.' Dr Whitewood replied. As Rhydian snarled over her fibs.

'Which is?' Jana asked with a rather assertive tone of voice.

'Maddy and her family are in danger. You have to leave immediately.' she answered.

Something seemed off about her. She was always a sneek, but this time was different. She seemed too confident, like she had nothing left, nothing to hide from.

'And why should we believe you?' Rhydian called out.

'Well if you don't, something bad might happen .' her words had a manipulative tinge to them.

Jana's POV:

I couldn't help but think this was gonna end badly. Perfect. And it would all be because I helped Whitewood and betrayed my friends. Maddy won't see it coming.

'Dr Whitewood, be honest with them. Tell them the truth, please.' I glared into her eyes.

'Jana? What are you talking about?' Tom questioned staring at me.

'Jana is on my side. The right side. We have been working with Alex Kincaid to bring Maddy and her pitiful family down. Unlock their secrets and rip their life from under their feet.' Whitewood announced, loud and clear.

'Why, why though?! What have they ever done to you?!' Shannon screamed while she clenched her fist till it went a deep purple.

'I'll tell you what they did to me, they ruined my life, took it from me, they made a fool out of me-,' she yelled,

'That's funny, as if I recollect, you sent a 15 year old boy into her home to steal a chew toy from their cellar, tested it, went to their house and forced them to confess something by threatening them you'd tell the whole world their supposed 'secret'... no they didn't do anything sounds like you brought this on yourself.' Rhydian stated rather proudly.

Dr Whitewood scoffed as i felt her blue eyes glare at the back of my head.

'Jana why are you on her side?' Tom backed away from me slowly, as if he was terrified of what would happen to him.
