Chapter 43: Emotions

I left Tenten and waited for Shikamaru outside. I felt a bit of remorse because Tenten looked sad, she tried to act like she was fine with me leaving but I could notice she was upset. I see Shikamaru coming, I walk towards him to meet him half way, still feeling bad knowing she was in the room alone.

"Did she notice anything?" Shikamaru asked

"No I don't think so" I said softly

"Good we don't want her knowing the surprise, that would ruin our plan" He said

"I know I just feel bad" I said as we headed to the place we were staying at

"She won't be sad after she figures out the plan. Who would've thought you two would be the first engaged in our friend group" Shika said

"I never thought to get engaged this early but I feel like it's time" I replied

"Yeah I know what you mean, I felt like that it was the right time to ask out Temari and here we are happily dating" Shikamaru said

"I can tell you guys are happy even if she calls you a crybaby" I said

"We are, now come on Naruto is waiting for us" He said as I followed behind

"Hinata told me he had packed a bag full of instant ramen for us to eat since we I can't leave the room, is that true?" I asked hopping it was just a joke but in reality I didn't even know why I was asking. Of course he brought a bag full of instant ramen it's Naruto for gods sake

"Yeah he was actually boiling water in the room before I left. Hinata left to go check everything and make it's ready for tomorrow then she'll go with Tenten later on in the day so it doesn't seem off, she shows up out of nowhere that fast" Shikamaru said chuckling as he talked about Naruto

"Great, he's probably making some for us" I said, I wasn't a huge fan of instant ramen

"He brought some of those tonkatsu flavored ones and they are pretty good" Shikamaru said

"I remember once he gave me one of his limited edition instant ramen flavors he had and it was pretty good. I never had it again but that's the only instant ramen I liked" I said as I remembered the smell, it was lovely.

He had asked me to come over a day before, he mentioned he wanted to ask me something. It was weird because he had never asked me for anything but I decided to go. I knew it would be important if he asked me. I left late in the afternoon and went into his little apartment. He still lived in the same building as always. It was a small place and I remember the first time walking in and seeing how messy it was. Now as Naruto has gotten older he's slowly become a bit more organized and also because Lady Tsunade was always telling him to be organized. Naruto would complain about how Kakashi Sensei would always bring him a bowl of vegetables for him to eat thought out the week since he mostly eat instant ramen. Naruto greeted me and I sat down in his kitchen waiting to hear what was so important. He asked me if I had eaten yet, I replied with no. He pulled out 2 instant ramen cups, and we waited quietly for the water to boil as he poured the water he believed I would like this flavor. He started to get a bit nervous, I asked him to just tell me what this was about. He blurred out "I wanted to ask you for permission to ask out Hinata, I want to make her my girlfriend" I took a deep breath as I told him yes but with a few conditions. He smiled and agreed, I took a bite from the ramen and asked him where did he get it, he replied saying it was a limited edition ramen flavor. He wanted to give me something special to eat.

"I saw a limited edition flavor in his bag, also the rest of the guys will be joining us shortly. Naruto wanted to have a special get together with just the guys" Shikamaru said
