Chapter 8: First Date

~ Neji ~
Days Passed

Two days ago Lady Tsunade along with Master Jiraiya and Kakashi Sensei left to the 5 Kage meeting i think all of us are worried.

I walk to the dumpling shop to get some dumplings for me the date with Tenten

I see Naruto there

"Oh hey Neji" Naruto said

"Hi, what are you doing here?" I asked

"I'm getting some dumplings for me and Shikamaru and you?" he asked

"That's good, I'm waiting for my order" i said

"Here's your order" said the lady in the front

"Thank you" i said "Bye Naruto"

"Bye Neji" he said

I got me and Tenten our favorite orders, i walked to the place where I was going to meet her. I got a few other treats as well for us

Lady Hinata helped set up the picnic area

As i set up all the food i see her walking towards me

It's our first date i'm nervous but also who knows when we will have another day off

"Neji... this looks great" She said with a smile

"I'm glad it does. I got us some dumplings and other goodies we both love also i got us some painting supplies i thought it would be nice for us to paint" i said as i grabbed the bag that Lady Hinata left

It was her who left the painting supplies

Thank you Lady Hinata

"I haven't painted in a long time, I'm excited this all looks good" Tenten said as she grabbed a dumpling

"I'm glad you're excited" i said with a smile

We ate and talked about our memories and how training had been going. She looked excited it was out 1st date and many more to come.

We painted and to be honest neither of us were artists

Tenten tried to paint me and I tried to paint her

"You know what Neji i don't think I'm meant to be an artist" she said laughing as she showed me her canvas

"Oh don't worry mine doesn't look great either" i replied

And yep we weren't meant to be artists

"I think we'll stick to being ninjas" said Tenten

"Yeah, I'm better at being a ninja than an artist" i said

"But I'll gladly take my painting and hang it up on the wall" said Tenten

"Sure and so will I" i said

We stayed there longer and ate some snacks

We left and went back to her house. I felt happy and i know so did she too. i wanted to spend as much time as possible with her before the war starts

Once we got to her house i helped her hang up the painting i did of her. It looked so adorable again we watched another movie this time it was a romantic comedy. Tenten loves those

I made popcorn for the both of us, its funny how much we both eat. Training makes us hungry gotta stay healthy

It was late and i left

"Goodbye Neji" Tenten said as she hugged me

"Goodbye love" i said as i gave her a kiss on her forehead

The first thing i did when i got home was hang up the painting she did of me and even if she said she wasn't  an artist i loved it. Then i left to go outside on the way there i saw lady Hinata

"Neji nii-san you're home" Lady Hinata said as she made some tea

"Yes, thank you for leaving those art supplies, it saved me" i said

"Your welcome, but Naruto-kun brought up that idea. He did that for one of our dates so i thought it would be nice for you guys to do that" Lady Hinata said

"Naruto!?" i said shocked

"Yes Naruto-kun did that for me, I still have the painting he did" Lady Hinata said with a smile

"Well thanks to Naruto i got saved, i didn't know what else i could've come up with but she really liked it. I'm glad we had a day off" i said

"That's good. Umm... Neji nii-san when are you asking her out?" She asked nervously

"I don't know, I've known her my whole life i don't know what i'm waiting for" i said

"Why don't we do something like a party or something like that and you can ask her out. We have a little lake house and i think we might another day off. Lady Tsunade wanted us to rest up" she said

"That's a good idea. i want to get her something special that she can wear all the time. A ring maybe?" i said asking Lady Hinata

"Not a ring because she will have to take it off for missions. What about a necklace or earrings even maybe a bracelet" she said 

"Earrings would be nice and i'll get her a necklace too" i said

"There's a nice shop close by the hot spring maybe take Shikamaru with you" she said

"Oh yeah I will. He knows what to do in relationships and what to buy for a girlfriend. Out of all of us he's the one that has been in a relationship the longest. I think he gets annoyed that we go to him all the time for advice" i said

"My advice is to try and figure out what type of jewelry Tenten likes, i know she likes silver jewelry. She sometimes wears a little small bracelet" Lady Hinata said as she sat down

"It was her mothers bracelet" i said

"I figured it was, maybe get a pair of earrings that go well with the bracelet" Lady Hinata said

"Good thinking, thank you Lady Hinata. I'm going to sleep, goodnight" i said as i left with a little smile on my face

My plan is if tomorrow i have time ill go look at some jewelry for now it's time for bed
