Chapter 18: Pink Tulips

It was the next morning. I woke up with Tenten on sleeping peacefully on my chest. It was really cold. As i slowly got out of bed, i threw on some clothes and grabbed Tenten's fluffy robe. I got another blanket and put it on top of Tenten so she could be warm.

I got some wood and started the fire to warm up her house. I sat there as i grabbed the ring from my bag. I wanted to ask her out. It was still early, 7:03am to be exact but I knew Ino opened up her shop early. I quickly left and ran to get some flowers for Tenten i didn't care that I was still wearing her robe.

At the shop I saw Ino's father

"Hello, Neji what are you looking for?" He asked. He was probably confused why was I wearing a teal fluffy robe. I looked like a mom

"What would be good flowers to give to a girl" i asked as i looked around

"Tulips are a symbol of declaring your love for someone. I gave those to Ino's mom on the day i asked her out" he replied

"I'll take those" i said as i grabbed money from my wallet

"Okay pink right?" He asked as he started to get some wrapping paper

"Yes please" i smiled

As he started to wrap them up i started to think of what to say to her.

"Here you go Neji. You're lucky we got these delivered today" he said as he handed them to me

"Thank you, how much will it be?" I asked

"Oh no don't worry about it. You're reminding a lot of myself when I asked her out plus your father was a good friend of mine. You remind me a lot of him. Good luck hopefully she says yes" he said with a smile

"Thank you so much" i said as i slightly bowed with a smile as i hurried up to go back to her house but I ended up stopping by a bakery to get some for fresh baked goods for breakfast.

I got home and she was still asleep

The house was super warm, i took my shirt and te robe off . I started make some tea, and breakfast for the both of us. I was excited and I started to finish up she woke up

"Nejiiiiii" she said across the room 

"I'm here, don't think I left" I replied back as I walked towards her bedroom

"Good morning" she said with a smile

"Good morning my love" I said as i kissed her forehead

"Did you make breakfast?" She asked as she sniffed the smell of freshly baked goods and scrambled eggs

"Yes, here put on your robe and let's eat" i said as i handed her the robe

"Okay" she said putting on the robe. She was visibly sore and walking funny

She followed me to the kitchen. Everything was already set up for us to eat. Tenten didn't really drink milk unless it was mine she only liked drinking orange juice and tea.

"This looks so nice, thank you Neji" she said as she smiled and sat down

"You're welcome, i hope you enjoy it" I said as i sat down on ready to eat

She started eating and from the looks of her face she really liked what I cooked. We didn't talk much but i knew she was enjoying my presence there. We finished eating and she sat down on the couch watching a tv show. We didn't have to go report to Lady Tsunade until 9:15am. I did the dishes and went to go get the flowers from the extra room she had. She liked to practice fortune telling and read tarot cards but she also enjoyed gardening so she had all kinds of stuff in that room.

I grab the flowers and i get the box with the ring, along with the bag that had the charm bracelet. She was really into her show not noticing what I was doing. I check the time it's 8:13 i get the courage and say it

"Tenten" i said to catch her attention.

She turned around looking confused

"Tenten I want to ask you something. I know I said I wanted to take things slow but you're the person I've realized I can be with forever and never get annoyed of. Tenten will you be my girlfriend?" I asked as I was holding the flowers. Her face lid up and she was speechless

"Neji, YES YES YES" she said as she got up to hug me then she grabbed the flowers

"These are beautiful" she said as she grabbed them and smelled them

"I also have something to give you" i said as i pulled the ring out of the bag to make her a promise. "I got you this promise ring because I want to make a promise to you. I promise to always be by your side, protect you and care for you but most importantly give you all my love and support" i said as i put it on her ring finger

"Neji this ring will always symbolize our love for each other. I promise to care for you, support you as well, make you smile and feel happy everyday. Also to encourage you. I will always cherish this moment" she said with a smile as i kissed her

"I also got you a little charm bracelet" i said as she opened the little box

"Neji, you are really thoughtful. Thank you" she said as she put it on and hugged

"I hope you like this surprise i had for you" i replied

"I do, I really do love this surprise" she said as she looked up to me with her beautiful smile

Then we started kissing and it lead to our clothes being on the floor and being completely naked on the couch while she screamed my name out loud. After we were done all i could think of "Tenten you are such an independent woman and you don't like to depend on any guy but when we have sex you like me to be the dominant person while you get choked and beg for more. It does not make sense"

We changed and left to go check in with Lady Tsunade after all a war was about to go happen in a few days.
