It had been about two weeks since Athena was brought in to stay with the Sons, but Jax kept her close in his sights because she was always drained and she jumped at every sound, she even had some near death experiences from her own hands, everytime there was a fight she would hide somewhere and leave the men to search around for her.
One afternoon a fight broke out between Tig and Kozik,

Athena was afraid and beyond annoyed because those two always got into it and a majority of the time she was the problem between the two and what had gotten the fight going.
She just ran away a majority of the time to crawl up on the clubhouse roof hoping no one would care or pay her any mind, this was all so new to her and she didn't understand why they fought over her because when she saw herself, her broken skin, and marks that kissed her body, she saw ugly
but when they saw her they practically prayed to her and she hated that, she was so confused by why anyone of them would enjoy her presences in their lives.

Later that night Athena ly awake in the dorm she was given to sleep in as much as she tried, sleep wasn't befriending her. She got up throwing on a sweater Jax had given her until they could make time to go get her some clothes. slowly opening the door to her dorm, fleeing out onto the clubhouse grounds,

As Athena tried sneaking onto the roof, hoping no one was up or would hear her.
She was just about half way up when a voice from behind her caused her to slip and slide down the rough sand paper like shingles.
A strong arm slithered around her waist pulling her back up right on the roof top, and back a bit from the edge, then a voice snapped and they were pissed.
She buried her face into the palms of her delicate and damaged hands, as she shook while listening to the voice she was now familiar with give her a hell of a lecture,
let's just say she didn't know what to expect when Jax moved her hands and lifted her chin up with his finger. His eye contact on her was heavy and she felt super weird behaviors that she didn't understand and sensations her mind wasn't sure how to handle.

"What are you doing up so late darlin?" Jax voice was stern but still a bit gentle,"I couldn't sleep, I only wanted a small bit of peace, I'm sorry I thought it would be okay." Athena's voice came out shakey like she was afraid that he may hurt her.
Jax took hold of her hands and helped her back off the roof and pulled her with him to were they would all hold church, sitting her down and grabbing a blanket to put around her small weak body,"So why'd ya run from Nevada darlin'?" She flinched at this question but gave him an answer, "Well my dad and brother are part of an MC in Nevada that only cares about their money and making it, so I couldn't handle the abuse and unwantedness anymore so I took my chances and left."
He gave her a serious look now and asked a very strong question, "Did they do this shit to you, cause if so I'll kill em." He whispered harshly as he gripped her hand in his, Athena took so long to answer and when she did Jax knew what they were all gonna do about it.
"Alright well your one of us now babe, and we protect our own and then some, now let's get you back to bed." He lifted her out of the chair and carried her back to her dorm then sat down in a chair that sat in the corner as she slowly drifted off.

The last thing Athena could remember before she woke to the sound of motorcycles that morning was a dream she'd had as soon as Jax put her to bed, the feelings she felt on the roof came back and she wasn't sure what to do, then her mind spiraled when he called her babe last night.
she ly still in her bed the sun made its greeting as it flashed through the window, causing her to grown and roll out of the bed and head to the bathroom to shower and get ready.
Slipping her jeans and Jax sweater back on after she opened the door and walked out to the kitchen were Chibs, Clay, Gemma, Jax, Opie and a bunch of the others hung around til she had decided to wake and join them,
Gemma gave her a plate with eggs, bacon and waffles on it,"Eat up baby your gonna have a busy day today."
Athena wondered what she could have meant, Jax nodded to everyone as the cleared out of the room,"So darlin I need you to make some deals with me til we come to the right agreement."
She looked at him in confusion as he spoke quietly to her,"I'm taking you to get looked at and your going understand? Then we are gonna find you some clothes kay?"
She sat in silence then drew a breath to reply, "Fine I'll do but you can't go in the room with me, and you don't get to tell me what I can wear." She gave him a dagger stabbing look but he fired back pulling her close to him to whisper in her ear,"Actually babe I am going in the room with ya and as for clothes I don't care what you wear but it's starting to get hot so get something to keep you cool alright."

He kissed the side of her head and drew back to look at her while she finished her breakfast.
