Someone new is moving into the neighborhood.

The six year old blonde sighed as he watched the moving trucks drive up and down the street, watching a couple carry boxes into the vacant house. He was supposed to be hanging out with his bestfriend Calum, but he knew his mom would force him to go over and introduce himself.

Luke picked up his nintendo DS and continued playing. He was playing mario kart and frankly, he thought he was pretty damn good at the game.

"Luke! Honey, we're going over to say hello to the neighbours, wanna tag along?" Liz asked, peeking her head from behind the wall of the kitchen.

Luke merely shrugged. He really didn't want to but, he knew it was important to his mum, and he loved his mumma's smile so much.

"Mumma do I have to?"

Liz simply smiled at the whiney tone. Her youngest son was her baby and she treated him as such, how could she not?

"They have a little boy of their own, I'm sure he's gonna need a new friend! Why don't you grab a toy and come with me to at least introduce yourself to him?"

Luke watched his mother, finding himself nodding at her words. His mumma is always right, she knows best after all.

The blonde closed his DS, hearing the voice of mario expressing his hurt at the shut console. He made his way to his room, grabbing a toy.

He chose his action figure, because who doesn't like spider man?

He made his way back downstairs where his mum was already waiting with a batch of what smelled like cookies. The blonde frowned at the thought of not being offered one but his thoughts were disrupted by his mum's voice.

"Don't worry honey, I left you a few on the plate in the kitchen."

Luke smiled widely before pulling on his shoes, skipping out of the house. Liz smiled lovingly at her youngest son, following after him.

The couple seemed to have taken a break, leaning against their car while drinking out of water bottles.

Liz approached them with her award winning smile and once they were in arms reach, she began introducing herself to the nice couple soon to be known as the Cliffords.

Luke kicked at the ground, toying with a rock that laid under his shoe. He thought they had a son? Did his mum lie to him? She would never do that!

"And this is my son, Luke! He's six, my youngest out of three." Liz spoke, adoration dripping in her voice for her little boy.

Luke got all shy, hiding into his mother's side while whining. "Mummmm! M'not a baby." Luke mumbled into her side but the three adults couldn't help but chuckle.

"It's very nice to meet you Luke, you seem like the kindest little boy!" the unknown women said. Luke couldn't help but smile, he liked compliments and this stranger seemed nice.

"I have a little boy of my own, his name is Michael. He's sitting right over there in the grass, playing with the flowers. Why don't you go say hello?" the woman offered.

Luke nodded and directed his eyes in the direction of her pointed finger, squinting when he realized how small this boy looked.

There's no way that boy was his age.

"How old is he?" Luke asked, finally meeting the gaze of the woman. Her eyes were green and held so much kindness.

"He's four, just a little younger but I bet you two will become the bestest of friends Luke. I should warn you though that.. he's a bit sensitive- but truly he is such a sweetheart!" mrs. Clifford spoke.

Luke nodded, slightly dissapointed that the boy wasn't his age but decided to walk over and introduce himself anyways.

Luke sat right across from the boy. His face was down and hidden in the flowers that his little fingers were playing with. Luke sighed, seeing as the boy seemed to like flowers more than hero's.

Such little things seemed like such big problems.

"Uh.. hi! I'm Luke, I live right across the street!" the blonde said. He tried seeming excited because his mum taught him not to judge a book by its cover.

He wasn't about to judge Michael after a few mere seconds of knowing him.

The boy jumped slightly in his spot, looking up quickly.

'Oh' Luke thought. 'I scared him.'

The boys lips pressed into a slight pout, his eyes brimming with tears.

'Was he about the cry? Why is he crying? Is it cause I scared him?' Luke thought. He started panicking because he didn't know what to do.

His mum was right, Michael is a sensitive boy.

Luke looked around for ways to stop his crying before looking at the boys shirt. It had a clip with a pacifier on it.

Luke scrunched his face in confusion. Why would Michael still have this? He's four. He couldn't even remember the last time he had one.

He shrugged it off and took it between his small fingers, pressing it past the trembling pout.

Michael visibly calmed down, wiping his eyes with his fists. Luke watched in curiosity.

"You're Michael, right?" the blonde asked, still eyeing the boy in front of him. Michael nodded, sniffling quietly as he resumed playing with the flowers.

Luke shrugged to himself and laid beside the boy, taking flowers in his hands before playing with them the same way Michael was.

This would mark the start to an everlasting friendship.
