"Here I am" I say aloud to the boys.

"Just in time, did you get lost?" They laugh.

"Don't even tell me, I had to ask to something like 8 people for directions to get here" I say desperately.

We all laugh.

"Oh God, we're screwed" Ashton says

"We are" Calum agrees and so do we.

"Here are the results from the lab" the man behind the desk tells us as he hands us the reports.

Luke takes them.

"Thanks" I say as the boys give him a nod of thanks.

We begin to return to the room where Dr. Murphy is located.

"What do the analyzes say?" Calum asks.

Luke looks at the papers before he speaks.

"Low iron levels, hemoglobin is very low, whoever it is has great anemia" says Luke.

I nod in understanding.

I'm sorry for whoever it is.
I feel sorry for whoever is here in this place actually.
This is precisely why I want to be a doctor, help others ... not that I had much of a choice.
It's a kind of fate.

When we get to Dr. Murphy, we give him the tests he requested and immediately go working on the paperwork.

2 Hours go by and still those damn paperwork was not over!

"Punch me. Punch me right in the face, it'll be more exciting than this. At least I can see a doctor do something!" says Michael.

"Yes, but on you." Luke chuckles a little.

"I don't care right now" Michael says, banging his head on the table.

"They seem to multiply" I say exhausted, pointing to the paperwork.

"I think they do" Ashton whispers on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Suddenly all our pagers start ringing.

Oh God.

Just then Murphy rushes into the room.

"Usually I would never let an intern touch anyone on the first day ... or the first year .... But right now the ER is exploding, so they're going to need all the help they can get. There has been an accident. Many injured.
only stiches. You can only do sutures. If I see that you are doing something else you are out of the program, am I clear?" he says sternly and we all nod.

"Well, now go and find a patient" and with this he runs away.

I couldn't be more elated.
Obviously not because anyone was sick. It would be psychopathic.
Only because I can finally make myself useful.

We ran to the emergency room.

We are all shocked at the sight.

Crying babies.
People screaming.
Nurses running around.

It was the apocalypse.

We looked at each other before we started running to a patient.

God, that was so weird to say.

I could hear someone screaming loudly.
Everyone could hear it.
I run towards the direction of the screams.

Now I see a nurse waving her hand calling me.

"Girl, 16, car accident. She's fine but she has deep cuts and a concussion. She doesn't stop screaming" she says.

"Have you booked a CT scan?" I ask taking my penlight.
