Grief

What form should grief take?

I'm not aware.

Should I be crying every day?
Should I be unable to eat or sleep?
Should I be able to live happily?
Should I always feel a dull ache within my heart?

I don't know about it.

Heating the words, ".... Is dead" is the hardest part of it all.
Seeing their body, if you choose to is a little less hard.

Some people don't view the body, simply claiming they want to remember them as they were before they died. Beautiful instead of their corpse. I can understand.

They say your looks revert to the best part of your life when you die, whenever that may be. So wouldn't that then be them at peace and beautiful.

Your heart aches.
Tears brim in your eyes.
You miss them more than you can understand.

Then it becomes a dull ache,
Triggered by shared moments,
Their favorite song, show or food.

Grief has no definite form, it comes in all ways and there are stages to it.

My grief may not look like your grief, doesn't mean I'm hurting any less or any more than you.
